For users of very head heavy racquets like the AT 800OF, AT700.. will an over grip make the balance slightly more even?

I know the main purpose of an overgrip is for comfort and better grip but my friend who knows a lot reg badmin equipment just suggested to put an overgrip to my AT 800 OF to make it more manageable because he claims that it will make to AT 800 OF more forgiving because of slight balance shift.

I followed his advice and the racquet's performace improves a bit. Is it because of the balance shift as he claims or because I now have better grip?

Is the slight weight of that overgrip significant enough to affect the racquet's balance???

    Ah, this old question.

There's static balance and dynamic balance.
An overgrip will affect the static balance more than the dynamic balance.

Dynamic balance takes into account the distance of weight from the axis of rotation. Most of the rotation the racquet experiences is about an axis somewhere on the handle. The extra weight of the overgrip is near this axis and so has little effect.

The different size of the grip might just be making it feel different.
