Hi fellow S'poreans: My brother in Singapore is flying up on 10/03/05 to visit me in Melbourne. I wanna get the Yonex Armourtec800 offensive in 3UG4. Where is the best place to buy it??? Crappy Yonex importer here only imports 3UG3 and sells for between AUD$290-$329!!! What a rip-off! Is Bras Basah Complex still the best place to go and haggle? What price should I expect to pay? THANKS GUYS!
Should be available readily and around S$250~270. we shouldn't say at800 there at that price is a rip-off, becos, as we know, taxes, profits and the high cost of operating a brick and mortar shop all added to the higher prices there and elsewhere, same goes to singapore, if you compare prices of TH version.
My bro the "super haggler" just got a 3UG4 AT800 offensive for FAR less than SGD$270 asking price, unstrung from BBC!!! Heck...I can't wait to see it!!
Is it 10-10 shop? I think they always overask their price and then give u "immediate" discount. My mizuno shoe there price tag was $130, then give me discount to $95, actually i think its worth less than that
BBC = Bras Basah Complex... Dunno which shop yet, will check with him when I collect him from the airport. Apparently he said was a shop with quite a hot-chicky-babe salesgirl!!! Its a well known marketing tool to inflate prices well over their recommended retail price, then offer a significant discount, it makes the buyer feel like they are getting a good deal when they are just paying normal prices. The cheapest I can get the AT800 in Australia for is AUD$280, which converts to about SGD$360 at the moment, and that doesn't include strings, or postage. Perhaps add another AUD$50 to the purchase price for the racquet to be court-ready!! :crying: So basically I've saved myself about SGD$120 or AUD$90 for the racquet than if I purchased it in Melbourne....so....CAN'T COMPLAIN!
TH version and SP versions are also readily available for the AT800 here. You might be getting the TH version, around $230 with string.
ya bbc is the best at the moment.its true that they really inflate their prices this high.i ask the price of the thunderbolt II and i got a price of $169 and he said he is willing to give me at $149 but a check back with my friend who bought it last time told me that he only got it for $125.
Are there any differences between the TH and SP models? I was under the impression there were just region codes or something.
well shawn ....ur friend might be a regular customer of that shop...if ur friend brought the tb2 racket at 125$, u should have quote the price to the saleman in 10&10 that ur friend recommend u there and he got a racket at XXX$ heh. well...don't expect the salesman to know who is ur friend which bought the tb2 at XXX$ ... :.:ALoha:.:
