From what I heard, it is a very beautiful place. I am still deciding and so are my parents if whether to visit Saipan or back home to Paranaque in Manila, Philippines. From a badminton perspective, Philippines is the place to go because as from what my parents say they don't know of places to play in Saipan. From a tourist's perspective, I would visit Saipan as I have already visited some of the sites in Philippines.
Badminton taking root on island By Ron Ige • Pacific Daily News • April 29, 2010 The Guam National Badminton Federation is being established, and its leaders are looking for people who are interested in seeing this sport grow on island. The federation needs all comers, whether they are recreational players, former competitors or coaches. "At the recent Oceania National Olympic Committee annual meeting, I was approached by the development officer of the Oceania Badminton Federation," said Sandra Low, board member of the Guam National Olympic Committee. "The sport has taken off in Saipan and Palau, and given the similar demographics of Guam and those two regions, it would be reasonable to say there probably exists a core group here on Guam for which this new federation will be able to serve." With the full support of the Guam National Olympic Committee and the Oceania Badminton Federation, Guam can expect to receive not only training s upport, but also equipment subsidies. A two-week development camp already is scheduled for October. "We hope to target schools for the inclusion of badminton in their physical education programs, as well as to create clubs to enable friendly competition and physical enjoyment," Low said.
