do u know where to get for SG, cheap but gd yonex rackets other than those big shops and where u mostly go to buy badminton equipment.
u mean in singapore? why dun u try the shop in sba... i think it's pretty good and reasonable there..
This is the first time my fren and me patronised Artic Sport in sembawang. And he bought a MP99 with freebies (due to promotions in Sportlink chain of shops for $199 with same freebies too). Very good prices and the shop owner is rather a nice and accommodating guy. I used to go to queensway Gala sports, but recently, their prices are not so attractive and partly becos I don't have rackets in mind to buy. Any place are the few shops in Bras Basah. No one shop will sell all the badminton stuff you desire, so shop hopping and bargaining is a norm.
Beware... Gala sports has a bad reputation. People have made complaints saying that when u ask for 24lbs, they will string it at 20lbs or cheap strings will be given instead of what you asked for.
It could be in any shops if you are not insistent and careful enough. How about I just discovered Artic Sports did not string using 4 knots for my fren's yonex today. Blame me for not reminding them. For gala, now they use all electronic machines, the pounds settings are there, you just need to stand there and see that they are doing it right. How to know if it is 20lbs after the stringing?
I understand there is a badminton sports hall/stadium in Batam. Does anyone have the address? I am looking for Indonesian brands for towel grips (eg. Kwista, elvana), rackets (eg. toppro, astec) etc. Thanks.
Good question, How do I know the pounds set if I'm not standing in front of the machine? Anyone can tell us how?
The feeling of the string when u are pressing against, if it is soft means tension low (18lbs to 22lbs). If is quite secure is a high tension(23lbs and above)....sorry for my poor english.
Hi Taufik, I saw that you live in Singapore. Why would you like to buy a racket in Batam? I think racket prices in Singapore are cheaper. Any specific reason? I am sorry that I am not answering your question. Just curious...
i used to do this also until my one guy in our regular group taught me. actually it is more accurate to tap the string bed against your palm to hear the pitch of the sound. get hold of a racket of tension which you like and do some home work by hitting different racket to see if you can tell which ptich is produce by your preferred racketa n remember that pitch. then jsu hit hit can tell if tension close to what you want.
Batam I did try to find good racket in Batam. The stores there do not have good complete collection of rackets and accecessories. The price is quite expensive even some of the rackets are fake. To find astec and others probable you have to go to Jakarta. Friend of mine have several astec racket. I tried time. They are good quality with cheaper price. Yet i still prefer yonex. So if you can dont try to buy racket in BAtam
