TheStar PETALING JAYA: Sharizan Sidek, younger brother of national coach Misbun Sidek, charged into the boy's Under-18 singles quarter-finals of the 100Plus Power National Junior Circuit North Zone with a convincing victory over Perak’s Ong Pinn Gia in the second round yesterday. Sharizan, who defeated Mohd Zulfahmi of Perlis 15-3, 15-3 in the first round a day earlier, extended his winning run with a 15-6, 15-5 straight games victory yesterday. The Selangor player will face second seed Loh Bok Sheang of Penang today. Bok Sheang, who had a bye in the first round, whipped Perlis’ Mohd Hanif 15-0, 15-3 to claim his place in the next stage of the competition. The top seed, Lim Kee Shen of Kedah, as expected, made the cut when he defeated Perak’s Ten **** Xiang 15-10, 15-4. Kee Shen will be joined by teammates, Tan Kean Loong and Khoo Chun Seong, in the quarter-finals today.
i would like to see the draw of this competition, could anyone paste me a link or something? thankew very mooch
I thought Rashid Sidek is the youngest of the siblings. Apparently there is another younger brother who is still under 18 Such a huge gap between the siblings as i think even Rashid is in mid 30s now
If I'm not mistaken, there is another Sidek who is younger than Rashid but should be older than this one. Played badminton but not to the level of the other siblings.
Sharizan is the step brother of the sidek brothers ... but all their brothers treat like their own child..this fella here is really talented .........he jus won the selangor close title in the double , mixed double and singles event ...before he won the titles he was very rebellous ... he like ditchhis training and always playing..now that he realised that he got talent..and now he want to become an olypic title...
he's totally a great one. but he lost in the final for the badminton circuti stage one.. pretty sad huh! selangor have their real talent in u12 boy category.. zulfadli the next raising star in badminton!
i dont mean to take any glory away from this boy (zulfadli ) but isnt he the kid with the post dated birth certificate? i mean i understand that he's somewhere around age 13-14 years old actually. anyway.......... if he's really good, i hope to hear his name in the open category few years down the line. making headway at that level where age is not a dispute 8man
This boy is a hardworker both on and off the court. Wake up early morning for jogs even before school started. We will just have to watch out for him in years to come. Another Sidek is Rising.
