    Guys:
I have a question, if I put extra grips on my racket, does it make the racket heavy or light? I have a brand new MP-99 racket and it feels little heavy for me, I want to make it light, I have a 3U-G5 (TH Version) MP-99, shall I put couple of overgrips, please advise?

    Thanks.

    According to physics and math:

    Let your MP-99 be X and overgrip be Y. X is 85-89grams and Y > 0 gram.

Since Y is always greater than zero, X+Y > X is always true.

Hence, MP99+overgrip, will be always heavier than just MP99 itself. :D

Well if you're cricket bat feels heavy then putting an extra grip on it does make it feel lighter, so I presume the same applies to a badminton racket, something to do with adjusting the balance point perhaps?

It depend on what the definition of "is" is... You know what I mean. Yes, it will make the over all racquet a few gram heavier depend on the weight od the over grip. In theory, it will make shift the balance closer to the handle and therefor makes the racquet little bit more head light. Depend on where you hold the racquet handle, it might makes the racquet swing feel heavier or lighter. So just like many old folks, what kind of underwear they wear... It's DEPEND... Can you clearfy or defind what kind of lightness are you looking for???

You could also try sandpapering all the paint from the head of the racket, it might not look so great after though. If you use a thinner gauge string it would be lighter, that .01mm could make all the difference lol :D.

you can change the balance point by adding weight
but you can't reduce the swingweight by adding weight.

if a larger grip size suits your hand better, it might "feel" lighter, or be easier to use, but it will not actually be lighter
