Only the top 16 ms players will be invited to the China master unless someone withdraw. So I think XIA will not compete the match. It's so regretful for XIA.

So, this is like the Copenhagen Master, which is an invitational tournament?

Is it a knockout format or a round-robin group format? It will be interesting to see a round-robin tournament with 4 players in a group. This will make it a very competitive tournament from the group stage to the final stage.
My preference:
MS: 3 group matches with the winners(and perhaps runners-up) qualifying for the quarter-final. Knockout format from quarter-final to final. Maximum games = 6 games for winner --> equivalent to most tournaments
WS-XD: 3 group matches with the winners qualifying for the semi-final. Winners and runners-up qualify for the semi-final. Knockout format for semi-final and final. Maximum games = 5 games for winner, which is again equivalent to most tournaments.

And the biggest difference is that the China master is 6 start tournament, the players can get many world ranking records.

I think it will be based on ranking and there will be limited no. of entries[fewer] or it would not be a 'masters' tournament ,would it?
