hi guys....im having a tournament in 1 week time. can you guys suggest me any light training or other things or the nutrition to prepare me well for the tournaments in 1 week time??? thanks......
HI, i think sleep well (enough hrs) to have more energy, Eat no oily, sweety n salty foods to prevent sick, Drink enough water to avoid loss of fluid. Increase fruits intake to have more healthy. Think u have done that hor : only reminder lah.... Watch video n see other pple play to have some gd moves. Gd luck to u. ceng
play more practice matches, and take note of your mood and emotions. don't be overly competitive in those practice matches and blame urself when u start doing the wrong stuff. just enjoy them. the theory is, you're more likely NOT to give up chasing the shuttle if you're happy. and do some dropshot and netshot drills. just do them enough, to keep the memory fresh in your mind. don't overtrain yourself even for a day.
One week before tournament is like one week before exams. One shouldn't cram on the night before exam day. Just try to rest and relax the last two days. IMO, you prepare for tournaments from Day One of your training sessions.
I'd say make sure you have all your gear ready a couple days before tournament starts, make sure the grips on your rackets are ok etc... Also, stay off the beer,
Meditate I always find that help, especially before a big game. Eat lots of rice or pasta the night before, you want alot of slow burning carbohydrates in your body.
Worst thing you can let happen is breaking your string during the first rally. It puts you in a bad mood and puts you with a weaker racket. Perhaps you would like to check your strings?
Additional suggestions (if not suggested yet): - Make sure, whatever you do, do not get injured! - Watch badminton DVDs/videos. - Practice various consistent and accurate shots. - Think about the strategy/game plan, find out about the opponents weakness/strength if possible. If you play doubles, discuss with your partner about it. - Don't eat too much, eat normally. - Relax, go swimming, sauna, steam, etc.
