haven't found the entries for the Chinese team. but media have cited that Li Yongbo will not be fielding Gong Ruina, Zhou Mi, and Xia Xuanze in the SC. Gong Ruina because of "social activities", Zhou Mi and Xia because of lack of performance.

what a sad day, he excluded two of my favorites players from the SC!

It is sad, this is one of the problems in badminton, too. They have spent almost their whole life practicing badminton, and have less time for education, work, and other things. Now, they may have to find a new job. :(

Xia Xuanze is almost 27 years old, Zhou Mi is 26, and Gong Ruina is 25.

Somehow, seems Xia often has tough luck about his "timing" to be selected into the big events, either with health, performance, age, experience, or whatever.

At least, he has a WC title under belt...

Not to forget, All England title, Bronze medal for Olympic 2000 and as one of Thomas Cup China player last year. He had achieved a lot athough his performance is sometimes up and sometimes down. Not too many MS player who still play now achieved as much as he did.

Not surprising Gong was not chosen. The Chinese table tennis team and diving team already set examples.

China will play a max of 5 games, that means only 5 MS and 5 WS matches. China don't need so many single players. Even if Zhou, Gong and Xia are selected, I doubt if they will play at all. Obviously Zhang and Xie XF are 1 level higher than Zhou and Gong. And Lin, Chen and Bao are also 1 level higher than Xia.

It is indeed a hard competition to be a player in China...hmm maybe that is a good way to motivate players to become a national player. Hmm...what a pity they cannot play at the next SC..

Anyway, China has already had a very good team...indeed..:D..

How funny that when lots of people here argue who should Li Yong Bo pick for Sudirman team specially in MS, we forgot that the quota for Sudirman team are 24 players per country.

China maximize their team by sending 24 players. Denmark the second with 23 players. Here is the list for China team.

Note : So Xia Xuan Ze and Gong Rui Na still had chance to qualify to World Championship. Here is the last event to gain point for them if the coach decide to play them. Probably when they meet Sweden?

    CHINALinDan,BaoChunlai,ChenHong,ChenYu,XiaXuanze,CaiYun,FuHaifeng,

    SangYang,ZhengBo,ZhangJun,ChenQiqiu,XieZhongbo,GuoZhendong,

    ZhangNing,XieXingfang,GongRuina,ZhouMi,ZhangJiewen,YangWei,GaoLing,HuangSui,

    WeiYili,ZhaoTingting and ZhangYawen

    How can China lose?

China should come out as winner as the team is well prepared and with such golden lineup, how can China lose?
*Men's Singles: Lin Dan, Boa Chunlai, Chen Hong
I am sure Lin Dan will be field against Indonesia(Taufik/Sony), Denmark(Gade/Jonassen) while Boa and Chen pickup the remaining.
*Women's Singles: Xie Xingfang and Zhang Ning
Does it really matter? Each of them play alternating day, just to be fresh. No one can beat these two players.
    *Men's Doubles : Fu/Cai and Zheng/Sang
I don't think Fu/Cai is that unbeatable, Danish, Koreans and Indonesians may be able to take 1 point from this event. The pressure is too great for the Chinese to handle playing at home.
    *Women's Doubles : WeiYili/ZhaoTingting and Zhang/Yawen
Only the Koreans can stage a challenge in this event.
    *Mix Doubles : Zhang Jun/Gao Ling, ChenQiqiu/ZhaoTingting
Zhang Jun is at his 70-80% and rising, not very sure about the current form of Kim/Ra though.
The only country that can stage a challenge to team China in every event is Korea and hopefully we see these two in the final.
