Hi everyone I've been loggin on to the BC discussion forum for several months and it occurred to me I never "officially" introduced myself ... my bad(minton). I'm impressed with this thriving global community and find myself checking in more and more. As a resource it's been great for me, most recently with regards to shuttle speeds. From international "live scoring" to equipment reviews to offbeat topics like i-pods issues, there always seems to be a genuine sense of helping, yet sprinkled with fun and enthusiasm. As for me, I returned to semi-regular badminton about 5 years ago after a friend dragged me back. Didn't realise how much I missed it. I can be seen haunting the courts of Richmond (BC) but unfortunately not as frequently as I like. I'm kind of an intermediate player but on certain days my form can dip to pathetically poor . Like some of you in our area, I was at the World Juniors last Oct in Richmond. You probably heard me (and some of my buds) screaming my lungs out during some of the more exciting matches. I have many good memories (and photos to go with it) and also experiences with some of the players. From what I have observed, the event certainly has galvanized badminton enthusiasm in this area. Well, enough of my rambling. I hope to be able to banter and share some of my views with you all. THANKS! MB The badder the better
Hi Cappy, thanks for the welcome. I kinda rotate around Cambie, Homma and Anderson, time permitting. Generally play once or twice a week. MB
Hi Dave, thanks for the welcome. Yes Anderson = Richmond Badminton Club, but I only play on the occasional Sunday. Where do you play? MB
Collingwood on Sundays normally, but I'm debating whether to move my playing hours to Anderson. -dave
Been crowded at Anderson the last couple of times. Since I'm not a regular there, I don't know what the turnout pattern is like. MB
Heh! Well, your days of roaming the lower mainland for plays might be over soon. May 10th, buddy! May 10th will be D-day for you. That's when the fun begins. Anyway, can't wait for you to get into VRC, WoodChuck!
For Woodchuck? Only if he's lucky. VRC membership was full last year and there's quite a number of folks wanting to get in.
