Is it just me, or does anyone else find it harder to read with the names placed above the post, and ending between every up post?

i am still debating whether that is that better or not. i am 50/50 on it myself.

the advantage to it is that it leaves more width for posts. especially when one attaches an image. there is more space for wider images.

i am open to suggestions and feedbacks. :)

I prefer the old way because the length of the page is longer in the new way and it's hard to see things. (Needs to adjust the buttons and page width if we are really going to use the new way)

I also like the new style!

Viewing the old forum on my laptop (with Opera) with 1024x768 resolution was a pain. The screen looks very very cluttered. It looks very good and streamlined now. I can view more of the posts text/images now.

Also how about incorporating an auto wrap function when displaying the posts (specially posts with images)? (so that posts don't extend beyond the viewable area of a browser)

Nothing wrong with the old look but the new one looks more tidy.

Ahh, now I see your reasoning. Perhaps the side bar can go dynamic, and pop out on a mouse over?? That would leave a lot more horizontal screen real-estate.

I'm still a fan of the old name on the side though, as that gives a better flow when one reads down from post to post. Let's let democracy rule the day.

    I am a but disoriented :( :woozy:

I thought the focus was on the post content itself and less so on who it was by :p

If Kwun thought the poll would reveal the preference, he'd be disappointed :D

The poll's 50/50 too (at the time of this post)!

if you ever think being the admin of BC is easy, think twice! :p

i do agree with the concerns that the new style breaks up the flow. that was the reason i didn't use it when i saw the feature a year ago. i decided to try it out because of what i mentioned earlier on, it widens the main text region for images.

i need to find a solution that will satisfy both concerns. think think think.

I do agree on this.. it does leaves more space for posts and pics. Maybe alot of us are not used to the new setup.. i myself prefer the new version.

I find it a lot more troublesome.

Before I can just scroll down and read post after post. Now I have to jump around every few lines on a stop-n-go basis. User info isn't that important and we can just turn left if we want to read it.

Also, the longer the line, the more difficult it is for the brain to process the information without getting confused.

The only reason FOR the switch is just to be different, and I don't think that's ever a good reason to do anything in and of itself.

Also, this forum software allows users to choose their own layout template. Why not just create two and let the user choose if its warranted?

Whoa, now the top buttons are like "page style" and the width of the new method has been fixed to fit in the browser. We are getting lots of new things here.
