Hey, ive noticed the shape of the head of prince rackets (the y joint) recently and im curious if they can be restrung as easily as the normal headshape rackets? i havent got a clue how the stringing process works so forgive me if im just being silly
The list of patterns I have for Prince racquets has quite a few that are 22 main. I'm not up on the Prince range, so I don't know if the 22main racquets are old or not. Or if any of the new models are 22mains e.g. Prince Response is 22main x 23cross that looks like a Y shape because it says it needs 19 foot for mains and 17foot for crosses same for: Prince Thunder Bolt Prince Thunder Storm Prince Thunder Strike All Prince Axis appear to be 18main x 22cross
Check this out for some of the older model pattern: http://www.klipperusa.com/stringing/viewpattern.php?mfg=BPRI
Prince vs. Other wow this thread is old.. anyways, i just got a prince more+ xl comparing the stringing method of a normal oval/iso racket and the prince's v-bottom iso, it's definitely different. what threw me off the most was that the prince racket has 3 closely packed grommets in each of the 4* corners. also, normal rackets usually (starting from the bottom) have 3 non-interacting pairs of grommets on each side, but the prince racket has 3 on one side, and 2 on the other. you know how regular rackets usually have the 7 consecutive grommets that form a cool-looking line? prince has that on the top too. it starts at the 3rd of the 3 closely packed grommets on the side w/ 2 individual pairs on the bottom, but it only goes on for 5 grommets. [kinda confusing, huh? ] anyways, i'm going to try to devise a layout comparison sometimes within the next week or so. hehe, it might take a while..
so essentially there are 2 extra grommets on each side [the middle of the 3 closely packed grommets i mentioned in the above post] contributing to a total of 38x2=76 grommets prince more+ xl 38 grommets x 2 sides = 76 grommets other [yonex iso 900 long sx] 36 grommets x 2 sides = 72 grommets the extra grommets are really screwing up my trying to figure this out also 62 grommets w/o 2 strings through 14 grommets w/ 2 strings through
For the prince Y joint rackets, as long as you have the pattern with u, string it should not take too much time. Just give a few inches extra (if using 2 pieces / 4 knots method) than usual for the main, as it seems taking a bit more string than most other rackets.
