I'm looking for a new oval racket, this is not going to be a practice racket, i just prefer oval rackets to isos. I've been using a karakal slti 80 for about 4-5 months. I want a racket with mainly good control, and more power than my current racket. I've tried a cab 94, (not sure wat it was, but blue and white and very old not the new cabs) and they seem to have good power and control. Any good reccomendations? I'll be going to hong kong, tokyo, and beijing and maybe some other places in asia this summer. Thanks, btw are there any new oval rackets?

If you're going to HK and Japan anyway, why not pick up the all time oval favorite, a Cab 20? They still have them new.

Go for CAB20 if you can find it. If not, CAB30MS is pretty decent.

If you can demo some rackets (i.e. borrow from friends, rent a demo from local shop, etc), do it. In US market, I think you can borrow / rent a demo of Cab20ms, Cab23, and Cab30ms from ur local dealer.

Personally, I think cab20ms and cab23 are heavy (2u only) and stiff. If you don't have strong arm/shoulder, it might bother u a bit. Cab30ms is 3u, which solve the problem, at least, for me. Also, Cab30ms is cheap in US, even cheaper than in CHN  (reference to bbesports).

No matter where u will go and buy it, also try before purchase.

Until recently all Carlton racquets were oval.
You can probably find some good Carlton racquets for a low price in the USA.

    e.g.
    Carlton Airblade range
    Carlton MegaFlex range

The Carlton Powerblade series are Iso shape heads
    Everything else should be oval

There's no better or worse racket, it's just down to ur own preference. Cab20(original, not special, tour, Ti, long, or what ever version) is a classic racket, which is fairly easy to get use to. However, that still does not mean, everyone will like it.

2U cab21 & 3U cab30ms would be enough, i got both racquet and satisfied with them,in my opinion ,the cab21 is even more classic than the cab20, try to get one & you won't regret.;)

whats particularly wrong with the sl-ti80? i've used it in the past, and a friend still currently uses it...
instead of trying new racquets, maybe change some variables with the current racquet, namely the string. i don't think you can fairly give a racquet a chance in 4-5 months unless there is something totally not your style, such as being too flexible or stiff, or something.

It seems that many people are enthousiastic about Yonex's Carbonex 30 Muscle, you really should try it...
