That's unusual for victor sponsored player using yonex string Just wondering, do Yonex stringers charge them for the service?

I'm certain they do - but in those tournaments, I guess they'll charge the Ntl. team instead of individual players...also you can't say what strings they usually use. But in those smaller tournaments players often just go with the Yonex strings, they're the most readily available and pretty much anyone who plays a different string normally will know which Yonex string comes closest.
Chinese team did the same at the last US Open, although they're supposed to use Li Ning - I guess getting their rackets strung with Yonex is cheaper than bringing their own stringer(s).
Although I would guess that there are Victor/Li Ning stringers at some bigger tournaments traveling with the ntl team.

Couldn't they just supply the stringers with their own string?

It seems like now most doubles/mix doubles are switching to more flexible racket racther than stiff rackets now.
Funny how Lee Yong Dae has his own BS LYD and LYD N and he still uses BS 12N.
I believe Ko Sung Hyun also uses the TK8000.

Lots of people say so, but I don't get it! Athletic tape is too light, you would have to put a lot to get 3 grams, that would be unpractical and a pain to put on and take off. It must be some other kind of tape.

Maybe some lead tape and over it some athletic tape to protect the lead tape?

I have to agree, it is a pain to put on and take it off. It takes a lot of time to put on but there was a match in WC2010 where he put athletic tape on court, so I still believe it is athletic tape. Close up pictures of his racket seem to indicate a thick layer of tape too, that amount of lead tape would be too much to handle.

It's most definitely athletic tape. It's not 3 grams! Why the hell would anyone put 3 grams on top of the head? It's way too heavy that way...2-3 layers of athletic tape make a huge difference. Putting it on doesn't take much time either.

Why would he need to put it on and take it off all the time?? It is athletic tape and if you view LD's closeup, he has quite a lot of layers, must be 5 at least. And there are two strips in LD's case leaving the grommets uncovered ...

    Same for Chen Long

Do you know how much this would weigh if it was lead tape
