    welcome to BC.

the best shoes are the ones that fits your feet. the SHB99 is slightly wider than the SHB98. so you should choose according to the width of your feet.

The thing is that I am living in portland where there is no badminton shop, so I was thinking to buy them on ebay or order it online. Thus, I cant really try them to see if they fit my feet :S
    But thx anyway.

If this is the case, personally, I will suggest for 99. If it's just a lil bit wider, u can adjust it using insole. However, if too narrow, nothing u can do about it.

well, I am an asian so i have thin feet ^^
I thought that since SH99 is a new model with higher number, It would be better than SH98. If you are telling me that the only difference between the two is that sh99 is designed for fat people  . Then I will order a pair of 98. ^^

wide is not the same as fat.

and asian doesn't mean thin feet.

i am asian, very skinny, and i have wide feet.

    1) i agree with kwun!

its quite hard for me to sell shb98 to 'wanting customers' because of the narrow cutting of the shoe.... quite a few potential buyers decided againts shb98 for another model (say shb 89) or not buying at all because of the tight design did not suit their feet.

just so u know.... im in malaysia.... very asian people here :D so asian does not mean this feet.

    2) i believe kwun has already provided lots of details and the specs of the shoe in this thread: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22252&page=4

main diff for the lazy eyes
    - width shb99 > shb98
    - weight shb98 < shb 99..... not so big diff
    - shb99 has a better insole than shb98.
    - shb99 has a wider 'heel sole' which is alot more stable than the shb98 design.

    cheers

I hear in the SH99 discussion that the SH99Mx is narower than SHB99MID. Does that mean that SHB 98 and SHB 99 have the same width??

i think it was i who said that. actually its the other way around... i messed it up :p MID (JPN) narrower than MX (internat.)

and thats what one shop owner told me, so i cant be sure. 99 should still be wider than 98 though

Here is the answer of a shop owner in california san diego:
the difference between the SHB-99 and 98 is the width of the toe box on the 99 and the new heal system the supports the heal much better than the 98. Also the sole on the 99 is better and has more support, Thanks Mike

If it is too narrow u prolly need to wait for it to break in:). There is always a solution to this :). Anyway SHB98 is gonna cease production everywhere, or still will be available in certain countries such as Ti 10:confused:
