It was very easy to spot fake Yonex racket few years back, but now fake Yonex racket looks almost perfect! I myself bought a fake armortec 800def and tried to compare it with the original one. Even the PBSI logo looks perfect. There is only one slight differnce, which is the green part at the bottom where there is a yonex logo. The fake one is a bit blur and the green colour is lighter. I observe that the paint scratch very easily. But the quality itself is not that bad, it's even better than protech nanospeed 7000 (personal opinion). So beware!! Now the fake ones come very fast!! You can get it within a month after the original one comes out, even I saw the fake limited edition armortec. it cost about US$30 and it even comes with the certificates! I wonder how they do that.. there is also fake armortec 900 (green colour) haha... dunno whether yonex is going to release it..

Nah, that only tells you he is a racket-killer :p

Seriously, fakes may break anytime (see the thread about a broken fake MP100) and they don't even have the term "durability" at all because they are unstable. Some may last for months; some may last for minutes only.

Wondering if my racket is fake

I have bought a yonex racket 800-Of from sumai03 on ebay for a value of 135$ US. When I received it, the box said that it cost only 30$. Anybody knows why?. However, the serial and quality of the racket are really good. after playing a 2 times with it, one little black piece on the rim/frame broke and broke my string. A friend of mine brought it to Japan to restring it and to switch the little piece. I was wondering if the racket is fake

Sometimes to cut down on insurance costs when shipping, the seller declares a lesser amount on the item

That's just to fool costums ;) , if they would know the real cost of the racquet they would make you pay import-taxes.
So you should thank him

Yeah, my friend went to Japan and ask me if I wanted to re-string my racket. Where I live, they only string racketball/tennis racket
