some obvious ones that i have learned so far, because i won alot of games like that...

    1. don't try to take risky shots. be safe

    2. keep it in and OVER the net! but that's also similar to the one above.

    3. this is sort of unfair in some degree, but try to slow down the game by taking some time to pick up the birdie after a rally, or etc. imo, once ur opponent start controlling the game, they would most likely try to continue the game fast, because that helps them be confident, and that makes u less confident+ lose focus.

    4. try to pick on their weakness as much as possible. So if the guy has a bad backhand, hit to the backhand corner almost ALL the time. This is a way to get some cheap points.

    5. If u catch up to a level score with your opponent, please don't lose focus:p

lower ur opponent's self esteem by pointing out all his mistakes? lol....

clear the birdie to a far corner then drop it right after....

Basic sports psychology: focus on winning the next rally. Don't think about the fact that you're 7 points behind. In fact, don't think about the score at all, just focus on winning each rally.

9-2 is not like 14-7. You still got heaps of opportunity to catch up. Statistically entirely possible and feasibility to win from 9-2. What it takes is one point at a time. Make each of those points work for you when you are on service.

Thanks, although what should i do if the guys drops are weak? my net kills are kinda risky 30% chance i might mess up. He gets the drops but they are really high, and he's pretty fast, fast enough so that if i lift he can get it easily, perhaps i should cross drop? Well i'll practice harder

dont get mad at urself. if u miss a netkill, just forget about it, its one mistake.
try to psyche ur opponent out by shouting when u kill shots. the surrounding audience will begin to support them because of their enthusiasm to win.

Don't make silly mistakes or unforced errors. Keep the shuttle in the court all the time. Place your shots and observe his weaknesses. Pray that he will make alot of errors. Have confidence! Sometimes play delay tactics to break his/her momentum.

    Tire your opponent out.

If it is 9-2 in the first game, I'd try tiring the opponent down for the second game. Don't take risky shots, don't attack too much. just run the player all over the court. Focus on the second game and third game. This only works if your in better shape than your opponent. I use it alot on my games. I'd clear until my opponent get tired of hitting the bird, kinda like drilling them.
    Good luck.:)

Well, actually I felt that taufik didn't really need to work to hard and was in controll, even when he was losing. However, when you are losing by a large margin and u find that ur opponent is controlling th pace, focus on the first 3 shots of the rally: the serve, the return of serve and the return of the return of serve. If you can focus on these three shots, you will be in controll of the rallies, thus winning most of them (Unless u make unforced errors like taufik :s).
