Young Dane Kasper Fangel won the first set against Hashim Roslin 7-4. He had 6-0 before Roslin had even got to serve! It would be quite an upset if he keeps this up...
Roslin took second 7-5, so I guess things are back to normal... Sorry for spamming... but it looked kinda dramatic from the start.
Just as surprisingly Tine Rasmussen won her first set against Zhou Mi 7-0! Of course she lost the next 3 games...
This just shows that the new scoring system is utter ****. If it takes the top guys (and girls) 1 game to even get into the game
it also surprised me.but i have every confidence in Zhou Mi. perhaps she was testing the waters in the first set ? .
Sorry, that doesn't make sense. Then that would surely apply to all players, right? Why would the better players need more time to "get going"? I think Roslin just under-estimated his opponent initially, before he came to his senses.
How does it not make sense, i have played the system a few times and i hate it,as with the majority of people i know. What i meant was that at the start of every game u need a few points in order to test your opponent and work out weaknesses and strengths, by the time you do this is the new system 1 game is nearly over so thats wat i meant when i said they take a while to get into it..
shahzad: easy advice - test your oponent just when you serve. There is no place for risking when you are on return. I personaly like the new scoring system. My strategy is to play the best I can from the begining and observe carefuly what are reactions of my oponent. I am risking (if needed) when I serve, when I am on return I have a bit more "in and over" strategy. It works quite fine...
Oh well, that was just what i thought...good advice mate, ill try and put it into practise. And mag no hard feelings eh
