PRO`s started to play badminton? (age)

    Is somebody know when badminton profis have started to play badminton? It would be very interessting to know...

    I dont know exactly, but I heard rumours that chen hong didnt start until he was 12, and han jian not until 16.

    Not sure though.

    What about the Sidek family??? Surely from young age or?

    It's not really about the age they start at, it's about how much time they spent training and practicing ;)

    tony gunawan started at age 5....asked him in person....attented his 2 1/2 hours trainning class

    i think it is little difference if u started at younger age..i would say 14 or under...
    i don't think anyone started at age 17..can still be a pro
