Theres still that last chance for the PBSI to make amends, prehaps if they brought back Mulyo Handoyo then Taufik will stay....... But Taufik still has not officially been retired. Courtesy of the article below taken from www.worldbadminton.net

"We are discussing it. We have not made any decision yet," said PBSI secretary general Leo Wiranata. He said it was Hidayat's right to quit, but argued that the association also had rights over players, saying it had spent a considerable amount of money to groom them.

The world number four and 2000 Asian Champion announced on Tuesday that was to quit the sport after Indonesian coach Agus Dwi Santoso prevented him from playing at the ongoing Realkredit Denmark Open in Copenhagen.

The world bronze medallist has been unsettled at Indonesia's national badminton centre since PBSI terminated the contract of his coach, Mulyo Handoyo, back in June.

Hidayat has said he will continue his studies.

Was informed that Taufik might go to Singapore as Mulyo Handoyo is now there. Everybody knew(including Taufik) that as a concession to Taufik's request that Mulyo contract will be renewed only until the World Championship in Barcelona. Taufik is a spoil brat, he didn't want to accept his share of the responsibility.

The reason why he accepted for Mulyo's contract to be extended only until the end of the WC is because he was afraid that they might terminate his contract there..... So he wanted to keep Mulyo is the PBSI for as long as he could
