Hello. I’m having trouble obtaining badminton gear, as there is low coverage of the sport around my area. I live in Four Oaks, within Sutton Coldfield. I have to order everything off the Internet. I was wondering if there is anyone who lives around this area that buys his or her gear from elsewhere?

At the moment I am purchasing off a site called centralsports.co.uk. Does anyone hold any reviews of this site?

    Dave.

I've bought stuff from central sports and also www.directsports-eshop.co.uk

Never had problems with either of them, fast service by both.

Why don't you drive to Coventry and visit the central sports shop? it'll take you less than an hour ;)

I have been reading many posts on fake rackets etc. This has made me paranoid about purchasing them off the Internet. Do you feel such sites as centralsports can be trusted for provided real merchandise?

    CentralSports can be trusted.
www.rapidrepair.biz can be trusted (and gives very good service in my experience)
I think I've bought from www.badmintondiscount.com in the past with no trouble
Real shops that have websites can generally be trusted

Fakes are mostly found on eBay
    Fakes are mostly Yonex

some real shops also use eBay though
e.g. comido.de (good for Carlton racquets)

If someone is selling the newest release of racquet for a very low price, beware.

If someone is selling previous years release of a racquet for a very low price, it may be ok. i.e. end of line sale. This is what comido tends to do.

Thats cool. I mostly purchase all my gear from central sports. The worrying thing was that all of it was yonex, therefore i started to wonder. Central sports does have a store in coventry, so they should be ok.

    Hi Davie.

Ever heard of sport soccer? This is their site http://www.sports-soccer.co.uk/

Theres a store in Merry Hill, Birmingham and Wolverhampton which are quite close to you. Not sure if theres one exactly in Sutton Coldfield.

The reason I recommend it is because I picked up some very very cheap gear there. They have Carlton raquets that retail for £80 going at £20, as well as loads of other Yonex, Slazenger etc, i think theyre last seasons or something???

I picked up a nice Yonex raquet for £16 and £10 worth of shuttles discounted to £3. Hope this helps you.

Edit: just checked their site there is one in Sutton coldfield. Go check itout!
