I'd Just like to hear opinions about your favorite birdy. it can be nylon or feather. also, write why u like it, in terms of durability? feeling? sound? Flight? etc.
I use nylons mostly, so i like the Mavis 300 the best. it is the most dommon around here in Vancouver, isnt overly expensive (compared to other birdies here) and has a crisp hitting feeling and good sound, maybe not quite as good as some feather birdies, but good nontheless. durability is a big issue with the Mavis 300 though. with it, the cork comes off pretty often compared to some other nylon birdies. someone in this forum once said something like "the guy glue-ing the cork on should be fired" i totally agree. another plastic birdie i tried before was some kind of Black Knight birdie, and some Carlton birdies. the BK birdies i tried had crazy durability. on one birdie the white covering of the cork fell of and the cork wouldn't come off no matter how hard we pounded it. but the bad thing about BK birdies is that the "feathers" are damaged easily, break easily, so the flight isnt consistant, and "feather" durability was horrible. I dont like the feel of them either. Lastly, the Carlton birdies i have tried were all horrible (could be because of a cheaper model, who knows, they weren't mine) no hitting feel, "feather" durability wasn't good, and the birdie itself looked ugly i wonder, when will they ever make a birdie with the BK's crazily invincible cork glue, and Yonex's long lasting plastic feathers?
Yonex AS-50. Expensive, but they last well. I've not used any feather shuttles that last so long; even the AS-40s seem to break more quickly. And obviously they have a perfect flight
It has got to be Victor Champion ( Green colour) !!!!! decent price...good consistent flight....high durability (feathers drop abit or frizzy...still can flyyyyy!!)....every shuttles i had bought before are of the same consistent good quality. the tube casing also looks well-made---> a silver foil lining inside the surface of the tube case thou i dun know if other makes of shuttles have or not. (i know AS-40 dun have..)
Yonex AS-50 although my regular shuttles were Sosan Black and now Kason 99. AS-50 is really a treat and would last about one punishing game. It'll probably last more than two games if we don't have shuttle killers in our group and everybody play more placement than power. Feather shuttles get killed by mis-hits and smash receiving more than anything else so you'll have to limit your power shots if you want your shuttles to last longer.
I use AS-50 Last long, great flight and can I say anymore? The best shuttle however its a little to pricy
it seems everyone likes as 50. did anyone try F-50? they are supposed to be really good aint it? btw my favorite shuttle is victor champion. I like the sound, and power, feeling, and control of this bird. also, ppl are right when they say this is durable... my shuttles lost 3-5 feathers, and they all fly pretty well!
yang yang!! They make great shuttles, very durable. I am also pleased with the yonex AS series, just cost too much money
Definately black Sosan ("Tournament Grade"). Quality always the same, flies well. Victor Champion is good too.
