Mp99 vs Armotec 800 OFF? Singles?
From your guys opinions which racket do you think is better for singles?
MP99 or Armotec 800 OFF?
In my opinion both of them feel sort of similar when I play with them.
Although I feel that Armotec 800 OFF is lighter than Mp99...
What do you guys recommend or think?

Each player is different so you really can't ask that question.
But I think AT800 OF is lighter overall giving a faster reaction. Also, it's light and more powerful than mp99. But I still prefer mp99 for control.

I prefer MP99 for singles. Besides that AT700 will be another alternative.

i would say mp99 for singles and even for doubles. AT 800 OFF is too head heavy thus cant be easily manuverable.

I guess the answers would vary depending on your style.
But, for me, I would prefer AT800OF, I'm an offensive player, when I play single I mainly just want to set up and when the opponent lifts, I just kill it with jump smash, I play singles almost like I play doubles. AT800OF gives me lots of power when I smash, more powerful than MP99, that's the key for me. And, it also allows me to do faster drives just like in doubles. Both rackets have great control.

Personally I would choose MP99 for both single and double: 2U for single and 3U for double (makes a big difference). But there again, it will depend on YOU.

I use a mp100 2u and I find it more forgiving and manuverable than the armortec 800off (3u). over all the raquet is lighter but in play it feels heavier than my 2u mp100, proabably because of it's head heaviness. The armortec was supposed to be strung at 24-22 but my mp100's strings strung at supposedly the same tension felt much tighter and the feeling seemed much more solid. I could feel the armortec make the bird fly faster but i barely felt anything compared to my mp100.

That is correct. Candra Wijaya was using it during the 2003 World Championships Final before switching to the AT-800DE. Also, Nova Widianto was using the AT-700 racquet during the 2004 Yonex All England Open Mixed Semi-final. I don't know if he is still using it or not.

They started using AT700 before the existence of AT800s? Anyway, like always Yonex stated AT700 on the neutral side, therefore they must have sponsored them with AT700 before the AT800s?

Is there such thing as a shuttle for singles and a shuttle for doubles?? I think not. But you do have shuttles that have different weights and fly at different speeds, but both can be used for singles or doubles. Ditto with the rackets.
If you used the AT800 OFF to play a game of singles its not like you walked into a gun fight with a steak knife...
I recommend to you to try both rackets and use the one you feel most comfortable with. Don't let marketing hype affect your concentration and enjoyment of badminton.
