where is a good place to buy badminton related stuff?
I need new raqckets - would the stores be cheaper than online stores?

Try the search for abbies sporting goods, Tad's, and Racquets and Runners in vancouver. Those threads will give you a good lead.

You're buying badminton related stuff in Canada? Isn't it cheaper back home?

As others have posted. You have Impluse Sports at Aberdeen Mall in Richmond, the various Sports Chek/Sports Mart, ClearOne Badminton Centre, the Hovel at the Vancouver Racquets Club, Abbies on Main/33rd, Tad's on Granville/72nd.

Give us a shout when you are here and we can help out more. BTW, if you interested in trying non-Yonex stuff, then Tad's probably have the best selection. You can also get SOTX stuff too (limited selection).

Taiwanese? There's one in Richmond, No. 3 and Granville that's cheap and GOOD! Closes early though, and the alternative is another close to Tads, around Granville and 68th, next to CIBC bank.

    Hey Janeadai,

Almost all of them are nowhere near Port Coquitlam. Maybe there's a Sport Mart or Sport Chek around there somewhere, but don't bother if you're looking for high end stuff:(.

My suggestion is to look and try rackets in local vancouver stores, remember the model/brand, and come back to US to shop (local or online). In general, US online stores offer better price, never have to metion in CAN, u need to pay extra tax on ur purchase.

If you're a visitor, you can claim back the 7% PST tax. There're outlets in the Pacific Mall downtown, somewhere in Eaton's. I think you have to bring the goods there to show them plus the receipts.

    1. www.nycbadminton.com (call for price quote)

Most of them carry top brands like Yonex, Gosen, BK, Winex, Victor, etc. You might want to consider compare the price case by case.

I've seen some in the sporting goods store in Crystal Mall in Burnaby. I don't recall the exact prices but they are expensive -- maybe the higher end shirts.

The shop's called Special Edition. I had a chat with the owner before and he mention about bringing in alot more variety of Yonex jerseys for sale. Not surprising considering the creativity lushed upon them these days. Part of the active sportwear trend, I guess...

the crystal mall shop is actually quite goood...they're selling their CD Nanospeed 7000 for $220 and the NS 8000 for $240...which is better than what i've found at Aberdeen and even Abbies, which was surprising...

I don't know about their shirts because I never buy them. If you know people who know him (since the owner plays around vancouver) you might be able to get an even bigger discount...hehe.

...yeah...the crystal one is ok...they're selection is good for Yonex stuff and the stuff is easy to find since the shop is so small...it's probably the most accessable and closest to PoCo. just wondering...does anyone know how much the NS7K and 8K are at Tad's? cause i when i when to get my SHB-89's...they were the same price at both places. except Tad's was willing to "talk" about the price and the guy at crystal just said "no" when i asked. i ended getting them for $90 at Tad's. so i'm wondering if it would be better to go to Tad's.
...and also...if i remember clearly...they had polos at crystal for about something like $50 the cheapest i T*H*I*N*K. i remember the jersies like the ones the double's pair at the top of the page are wearing was somewhere around $110.
...not that i'm trying to put down the guy's business...but i find it funny how everything's always "on sale" at crystal. like...the SHB-50 are basically $65 everywhere you go. but at crystal, they've been on sale for $65 after 20% off from 80 something for the past few months. same thing for a lot of other things. they're all "on sale"...but they're the same price as other places with regular price. he basically just jack's up the price and lowers it to make it more attractive:rolleyes:
