I'm already a member of BC for some weeks, but I hadn't seen this forum yet.
    Here's my introduction:

I'm Stijn, almost 17 years old, and I started playing badminton in 1998. This year I bought my first new racket (a MP25). Thanks to BC, I know a lot more about rackets now, and I found out that I should get a stiffer one. However, next year I'm starting in the Belgian competition (D-class) and I'm looking forward to it! At the moment, we haven't got a trainer but soon we'll have 2 (2 members are following a trainer's course). If anyone has some questions, just let me know ;).

    Kind regards,
    Stijn

I like singles more than doubles, but because of the limited courts (only 5), I mostly play doubles. However, I'm planning to buy a new racket. Do you know one that's good for single's?

    Hello Stijn!

    Welcome, Neighbour! ;-)

Its the best if you got to a sports-shop and let you give 2 or 3 different rackets for testing. So you can see at the training which one you like most at playing!

I already had plans to do that (in Germany, because I can't test any rackets here). It's called 'Badminton und Kletterhallen Aachen', do you know if they have a lot of Yonex rackets? They don't seem to answer my mails (in English and German)...

Why would you go to germany for that (no offence).
On most tournaments, there's a racquet-shop, they have a lot of racquets, and you can try them out.

Really? Didn't know that.. There's a recreational meeting the 22nd may in Lommel, do you think there will be a racquet-shop?

Oh, I´ve never been to Aachen, but there´s a small sports-shop here in Hamburg in my neighbourhood and all the people from my sportsclub go there asking for some testrackets. They get 2 or 3 for a week and then they give them back.
Can´t you do this in Netherlands?

From the far East, a 'hot' (the temperature here is unbearably hot) welcome to you, Stijn. :D

Only recently, we've been exposed to the badminton scene in Belgium and the level of interest there, which is pretty encouraging.

Here in tiny Singapore (hope you can find us on th world map), we certainly have many more badminton equipment shops than what you have at home. In addition, we can travel to southern Malaysia, Johor Baru (JB for short) to buy cheaper clones of some Yonex brands. Must say they are pretty good for the price we have to pay.

Hope you will continue to enjoy yourself here with all our BC friends. :p

I don't know if you can test in the Netherlands, but in Belgium, it doesn't seem to exist...

Badminton is becoming more and more a popular sport here... However, a lot off material isn't imported in Belgium (for example, no mavis 350 or 370). Most rackets are available, but you can't test them..

If you haven't been to Aachen yet: Badmintonshop
It's right there on the website but as you can see very little Yonex.

Welcome Daave! :D ... Glad to have you on-board. Can you clear baseline-to-baseline effortlessly? In our discussions here, a phrase that is often used is

I'm wondering if this is mythical or who actually came up with it! :D
