thats not the first time that he has said that, i remember at one of his movie previews one of the girls asked him how he stayed in shape and he said badminton and how it keeps him in shape. i wish i could remember what it was but i saw it on tv last year sometime maby it was on extra or some other show...oh well.
this is exciting. second time in a matter of weeks when we have a celebrity on late night talk show mentions that they play badminton.
...haha...wow...this is the first time i've actually heard of a celebrity playing badminton. i think it's really cool, but not realy surprising though since its kinda obvious that badminton would be beneficial to the stuff he does. i wonder what he would look like playing with his speed, reflexes, and all those moves that he has. perhaps have Jackie Chan and him have a match together. it would probably be one heck of match to watch. even better...make them a doubles pair
jacky probably isn't a good player because in his interview he said all he does during his game is try to do crazy trick shots like Sigit haha but he misses all the time his purpose is just to move around and test his reaction time.
yeah i was watching conan last night and i was in the middle of a conversation. conan was asking him about some styles of fighting and such. i was so rude to my friend who i was talking to because all i did was hear him say "badminton" and i stopped listening to my friend i do wonder where they (jet li and jacky chan) play though. do they have their own courts? i think it's really cool that badminton is getting all this good publicity. however, on the ellen degernes show last monday, they played badminton outside in the lawn. so we move forward but then talk hosts like ellen move us back
I know. Hahaha. I was watching and was surprised that Jet Li said he plays badminton. Conan didn't even pronouce badminton properly. It sounded like he said bad-min, lol. Don't know if it was just me or if you guys heard the same thing.
from "Men's Health" website: http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article/0,2823,s1-5-59-0-1693,00.html Jet Li's Warrior Wisdom The Training Secrets of Jet Li Training Secret #1 Go for explosive. For cardiovascular fitness, Li runs and bikes. But to maintain the speed and explosiveness that he's become famous for? "Badminton," he says. Yes, badminton-smacking the shuttlecock around for an hour three times a week is enough to keep his muscles poised. For yourself, try the more American rackets of tennis, squash, and racquetball-which won't hurt your hand-eye coordination, either.
His message to the American public is not start playing badminton (he's not bluejeff and his preachings of Cab30s you know ). Instead, he encourages all racquet sports. As a by-product, to train hand-to-eye coordination.
No No No. What he meant was: For starter, be it in martial art or racket sport, try tennis, squash and racquetball for conditioning. When u r ready for the big time, THEN try badminton, like jet li himself btw, nice find mikej
movie So... How do we get John Woo to get the hollywood bosses to fund a badminton action movie, starring Jet Li, and maybe denise richards ;-) /Twobeer
