when i serve i want it took go high in the air but i cant seem to getit up in the air about 1 metre above my opponent while others do it much higher this i cant do. my coach tries to teach me it but im useless and cant get the hang of it can any of you help me?
Can you describe how you serve? Like, just using arm, or arm / wrist, or wrist only? Also, what's ur stance and how far from the serve line, etc?
more details? Where you stand when serving, wrist motion, with or without follow through, wrist and arm motion, etc.
what i tend to do is whip lash the shuttle up and forward. first by winding the racket, (elbows bent) then with the snap of the wrist hit the shuttle with arm full length. like a whip. bending of the elbow is very important. one motion off course
Just try to serve as high as you can, without worrying about how deep it goes. Then adjust for depth. In a good high serve, you strike the shuttle powerfully upwards. Try to hit the roof!
Re Hi, u can try this. Stand at close ae the T line, look at the angle / height u want the shuttle to go. hit with yr hand upwards instead of forward when serving. hope this helps. ceng
bend ur legs as you drop the shuttle to hit it and then as you are about to hit it quickley extend your legs and this should kinda get you more height and depth. sorta like coiling up your legs then spring them out juz before you hit. should add more force..
I thought it was the other way around First serve as deep as possible, and when the shuttle goes out start serving higher?
Nope. Serving high requires a different action to a flick serve, so you won't be able to adjust from deep to high. Adjusting from high to deep is easier.
If the birthday on your profile is correct, then it just seems like you're getting into the stages where you'll be drastically developing power every year... so just be persistent, practice the serve whenever you get the chance and eventually you'll generate the power and snap in order to make perfect serves. What I did at your age is I stood on the heel of my right foot (left foot first) and I transfered all my power from hips to feet and that was how I did it.
