any 1 used sotx strings before? are they good, and how is the feel, how diff is is from yonex strings,
I had just strung my Nanospeed 8000 and MP-99 with SOTX 65TI at 26LBS x 26LBS today. Well... from experience, SOTX strings seem to be more durable. Thanks.
No. Yonex BG-65 for example is a 0.68mm string, wheras the SOTX 1040-Ti65 is 0.65mm. Personally, I feel that the Yonex BG-65 is a bit more durable than SOTX 1040-Ti65... The 1040-Ti65 feels a lot better though, especially at high tensions. I used the 1040-Ti 65 because it feels better than BG-65, but can be found for roughly the same price. It offers the performance of higher priced Yonex strings such as the BG-80 and BG-85, and they're at least as durable-- cheaper cost though!
The feel of SOTX 1040-Ti65 is definetly very good at higher tensions. But the power seems to be lacking. At lower tensions, the power is very good, but the feel is lacking. I think it's a very tempermental string... changing the tension a few pounds has a huge effect on how it plays, much more so than the yonex strings I've used. Its also the most slippery. I have only used it on two occasions however, so I may still change my mind when I use it a few more times.
sotx has released new 2006-strings! the complete lineup is now: CF64: "super complexed fibre, PU-core and durable fibre" 0.66mm ~$6 CF66: "super complexed fibre, PU-core and durable fibre" 0.68mm ~$5 CF70: "super complexed fibre, PU-core and durable fibre" 0.70mm ~$4 BR68: "Top Nylon+Braid" 0.68mm BR75: "Top Nylon+Braid" 0.75mm 1040-ti-65: "top Ti+Nylon" 0.65mm 1040-ti-65B: "top nylon+Ti fibre" 0.69mm 1040-ti-73+: "Ti+Nylon" 0.73mm 963: catgut 0.68mm ~$5 (cheapest gut i've ever seen. curious) BS-1020: Nylon, 0.70mm ~$2 (cheapest string of all)
