I just bought a racquet off of ebay (didn't have many choices as to where to buy from =/), I was just wondering how can you tell when the racquet is fake. I'm just a little paranoid about ebay.
You have to provide more information, else no one will be able to help you. Kindly provide the followings: Brand, Model, Serial No., Country Code... Thanks.
How To Tell If Your Racket Is Fake! I recently bought a Musclepower 100 from Malaysia. It was chipping regularly, and it was supposed to be "extra stiff" but it was Flexible. I called Yonex Canada, and they told me how to tell if any yonex racket is real or fake: There should be two sets of serial numbers on the racket. Both near the handle. If the serial numbers are printed on, the racket is fake. If the serial numbers are Engraved, the racket is Genuine. That is how you tell a fake racket from a real one.
You might want to check other details like the paint job, the serial number itself the grommets stiffness and so forth. Fakers now have access to laser cutters and can easily engrave any number they want. Serial numbers used to be the one to look out for, but fakers are getting increasingly clever for some apparent reason
I checked the serial numbers and the year in the serial number seems right (2 for 2002). The racquet I bought was an SP version. I contacted the seller, and she said she thought it was a real one and it's supposed to be an SP OEM version. However, this racquet has NO grommets, so can I assume this is a fake?
