hey, dun knock us canadian. We're nobody in badminton and we're still in the final . Neither mike or william are full time MD players. They often compete in XD and MS too. Also, they aren't imports

Good question about the Olympic eligibility. At this moment, if there is nothing happened about the USCIS (previously known as IRS) and the immigration laws, the answer would be NO, since the regulations are strict and the government workers are inefficient. If you had seen the DMV here in US, then you know why.

BTW, people have the right to choose where they would like to live. Badminton is not like volleyball or basketball which is very team oriented. Is it really important where the players were originally from? BTW, if there were some good incentives from some countries, I believe many professional players would be very interested in moving there (for a better life). Also, badminton is a very gentleman and lady sports. We are not playing American football here. Showing respect to the opponents is also important (and polite). Everyone knows Tony and Halim are great players, they play their best, and would give their opponents as few points as possible. Therefore, there is no need to be sarcastic about anything.

Default 05 USBDF WInter Jr International : An IBF Sanctioned Event

05 USBDF Winter Jr International, a year-end jr event has just been concluded yesterday. It was in fact a 3 day fun, excitement, thrilling-filled event where all junior players slugged it all out trying to outplay, outsmart, eventually outbeat his/her opponents. About 180 players from Mexico, Canada, East COast, Nor Cal, South Cal, MBBC, SGVBC, plus some highschoolers were among the participants of this event. It was a huge success ........ in a sense that we have seen more new faces esp in the lower age group like U-9, U11, U-13, and U15. If this trend is to be continued, then USA Badminton will have a brighter future of having more selection of players ....
To name a few of the most notable players from the U-11 division :
    Shawn Wong, MBBC
    Chad Naramore, MBBC
    Pow Hwa Chan, SGVBC
    Christopher Kan, OCBC
    Jin Peng, UBC
    Willian Cheung, Bintang BC
    Ryan Chew, OCBC

    Carissa Chung (girls)

    For the U-13 division :
    Jeffrey Kuo, Bintang BC (boys)
    Chris Ngo
    FOr GIRLS :
    Prianka Shandgkar, UBC
    Tiffany Wong, SGVBC
    Emily Kan, OCBC
    Kylie WOng, OCBC
    Nantana Ketpura, OCBC
    Karine Hsu, Bintang BC
    Sharon Ng, UBC

    For the U-15 Division :
    BOYS
    Dominick Lim
    Quan Chu, OCBC
    Dexter Vu
    Kevin Ni
    Nick WOng, OCBC
    Michael Zhou, TPBC
    JOnathan Tan, OCBC
    GIRLS
    Thuy Hoang, OCBC
    Jennifer Chen
    Julie Yeh, OCBC
    Angela Yee, SGVBC

Lastly, congratulations to all the winners ...!!! See you all in the 06 USBDF Spring JR Open ...

Thanks to OCBC for hosting the tournament! We always enjoy your hospitality, and this year was no different (despite the flu going around).

I agree about the new faces. And it was nice to see some kids improving a lot.

Looking forward to 2006. Re: the Spring Jr Open, is that the BAJO or another tournament? I can't find it in the web sites.

Regarding the upcoming 06 USBDF Spring Jr Open, USBDF boards have not picked up the exact date yet so far. But since 06 US Adult National which will be at OCBC falls on April 7 - 9, 06. So i would assume the Jr event will run either one weekend prior or one weekend after that. Which one would you guys prefer ??

Copenhagen Master is always an invitational event only. So they only invite the current 05 World Champions and not the 2001 WC which Tony & Halim held.
