    Hi...
I'm looking for drop-in badminton in summer.
Seems like there's no more community center in my area that offers drop in badminton. Do you guys know of any places that offers it? Somewhere near richmond hill, ontario...

    Thanks:D

Do you mean Miliken Mills and Angus Glen Community Centre? They have nothing. I work at Angus Glen and believe me, I've been trying to find Badminton programs there.

There is one badminton program that I know though within the Markham region. It's a children's and pre-teens badminton program at Armadale Community Centre. It's ages 6-9 and 10-14 I think, but not entirely sure. I've been trying to apply for a job as a volunteer for that program hehe. Haven't been successful yet

    not miliken,

there is a small community centre on south of denison and west of macowen. just beside the small plaza. i know they run walk in badminton daily, but i'm not sure in the summer. the admission is $4 for 2 hrs, but the service really bad (the staff).

I used to follow my dad's friends to miliken's community centre. It was so hard for them to book a court because they always reserve their court for their own friends. Once my dad told me that we get to play for one last time because the staff there will only let their own people book it

    How's that for bad service?

anyone here play at www.torontobadminton.com ? i'm thinking of joining most likely next season but wondering if anyone is already playing there. There's another place downtown toronto at a community centre on The Esplande (between sherbourn and parlament above lake shore) its every saturday from 3:15-6 for $2.50 i believe.

    I've been there once

I've been to the club before. I didn't like it because the management there isn't very organized. When it comes to switching on and off courts, the person in charge does not seem to do a very good job of it. As for the competition, I would say it is around the intermediate level. There are very few advance players there.

By the way, did you find a place to play? I'm looking for a place to play as well! :D

There IS badminton drop in at Angus Glen and I have been there before. Search google for the exact time, although you can't except anything but beginners there. :D

Lees, drop-in is like $10.70 for each visit, and I believe you have to escort by a member.

Yeah, I know there is one drop in for beginners. I just didn't think that anyone would want to go to it since mainly 10 year olds go to it lol. Besides, the program ends June 14 I think. It was originally on Tuesdays from 4pm-5:30pm for a price of $2.

um ......... I just did on saturday. :(
But consider you can play there from 5pm - 11pm on the plastic floor and non-stop badminton(not many ppl there). It is actually better this way than visit the community center twice a week, sit off every 15 mins and play with the old ladies.

rofl... playing with the old ladies... (you kinda start to feel bad when you make anyone 50+ run)

But yeah, Lee's is specifically for badminton, so it's prob more pleasant to play there... better lighting, only badminton lines, grippy floor, flexible times because you're not sharing the gym with other programs...

there's this specific membership at Lee's where you pay a little bit for the right to "drop-in" at a cheaper cost... iunno, seems pretty reasonable if you're planning to play a lot

McCleans Community Centre ( in Ajax ) costs around two dollars or so from 4p.m-6 or 7 on Mondays . Not sure if there still going to be a drop in in the summer though .
