I'm stumped between the decision of getting either a Ti10 or NS8000 from my local badminton store. Which is a superior choice?
I don't know why but I had a feeling that this one was coming hehe Ti-10 has a solid reputation already. People who likes it, like it alot and people who hate it, hate it alot. Have you tried any of those?
well first off you should try them...becuz they both cost a relatively large amount.... if you like them both...i suggest you get a Ti-10 first, becuz as ppl have said...it's discontinued, and since NS 8000 is still pretty new, there will be lots of chances to get it later...so i would go with a Ti-10 as you have the chance now to get it. both racquets are supposed to be for attcking style players...so you wont have to worry about that... ting03
If you check in market place a lot of ppl are selling their brand new NS8k. Not many ppl are selling Ti-10. It can be an indicator^^
But the weight of the Ti-10 is too too too........ HEAVY (head heavy). I don't think you can make your next shot especially if your opponent is capable of pick up your hard smashes.(Sorry, this is only my own opinion) I think the Ti-10 will drain your energy after a single game. Basically, I will recommend NS8000 even thought it is a even balance racquet but you can feel the racquet is solid. Unfortunately, this new babe is too expensive for me (approx. RM 800-00 = USD$ 210-00)
I have been a Ti-10 player for a few years. I just posted a comparison of my own experience between playing with a Ti-10 and NS8000. Hope you may find it of some use (please see Equipment Reviews - Rackets).
Interesting review. It makes me lean more towards ns8000. Of the two racquets, which do you guys think is more durable?
i haven't tried the NS8k yet but i've clashed my ti-10 with my partners armortec300 and my ti-10 came out without a scratch while my partner was less fortunate and his racket broke.
Best to try out both rackets before buying.. Afterall, the most important thing is to feel it yourself... I guess an offensive player like you should try NS8k.. It has got the same power like Arm800.. NS8k is solid fuel core, guess should be more durable and stronger..
IMHO, most clashes, if not all, weaken a racquet. In some cases, such as the one you quoted, the racquet may not show immediate signs of damage. However, the racquet frame would have, in all likelihood, suffered micro fractures. Over time, with fatigue in the frame material, micro cracks will eventually grow into cracks visible to the naked eye. In one occasion, my Ti-10 looked intact when I visually inspected it before stringing. But the frame cracked at the 9 o'clock position after I finished stringing the mains. And I was only stringing the mains at 22.5 lbs. I have used this Ti-10 for 2 to 3 years and I know I have clashed it a handful of times during that time.
I agree with what Ting03 said. The price should lower later on for NS8000... Since Ti10 is discontinued, it won't be so easy to find one. Better get one now than cry about it later. NS8k would be more interesting to try because it is head light yet it gives out the power needed for a great game of single. Best way is to try both, but trying both or even trying one of them will be the last thing I'll do. It's not likely someone would lend you their precious racquet to try. I would think about getting NS8k, but I think I'll get Ti10 if I were to get either one because of the price difference. And the reasons above.
I played with NS8k today. I couldn't wait to try it because some group of people A said it was head light, yet very powerful which impress me alot. Some other group of people B were saying it just couldn't match the power of high end MP's or AT's so I was very curious to know in which type of group I was. After a while, a was very disapointed. I mean, the racquet was good really good but, not as good as I expected. It was very light and very maneuvarable but like many other says... you just can't compare its power to any of AT700 or a MP100. IMHO comparing a Ti-10 with a NS8k wouldn't be fair at all... But then again, thats just me. Check my review!
ooo!! i got a Ti-10!!! now i just gotta wait for shipping can't waitt anyways i'll try to see if i can do a small review on it....i haven't tried to NS8K but i can certainly try to tell you what i think the pros and the cons are of the Ti-10! oh and about the durability part..... i was watching an All England 2004 dvd which i got from Han....[from market place, he's an honest seller]...getting back on topic...i was watching mixed doubles, there was a korean pair playing Defense....it wasn't Kim Dong Moon, it was the other pair....anyways the guy was using a Ti-10 and the woman was using Mp99, they were trying to defend a smash when all of a sudden their opponent smashed it in the middle, and their racquets clashed...the MP 99 BROKE, but the Ti-10 seemed fine ...but then again, as some ppl have said earlier...about the micro crack thingie...it might just break later i just hope o can keep my Ti-10 for as long as possible.... i'll tell everyone once i've recieved it....i wanna smash with it to see if it's CrAzY lol ting03
I guess I am definitely a Group A type of people by your definition. I have been playing with the NS8000 since I got it 3 weeks ago. A couple days ago, I was playing with a C player who managed to hit my NS8000 on his backhand. Just to be safe, I switched back to my Ti10 for the remainder of those 2 games. The bad news is, I did notice immediately some loss in power playing with the Ti10. The good news is, despite the paint chipped on the NS8000 where it got hit, the frame seems to be intact. Maybe getting hit on the 10 o'clock position where Yonex puts the nano carbon (i.e. Fullerene) did help prevent a more severe damage.
