I wanna know what's your best grip combo or you should must have or feel on your racket handle with the following criteria: - Grip size (G3, G4, G5) - Main Grip (original) - Overgrip - Grip corners - Grip grooves - Grip Towel - Glove - Grip Powder I personally like to use G4 + 1xOriginal Grip + 1xOvergrip and need to feel the grip grooves and grip corners.
If this is to be done, I think that it is also necessary to state the measurement from the "v" between your thumb and index finger to the end of your middle finger.
Well, think of it this way-- if your grip is too big, you won't have enough space between the handle and your hand to use any finger power at all.
If it's too small, you won't be able to grip the racquet properly. It's really a personal preference issue and you can't find the right one until you have experimented with different sizes.
i really like the mp99 3G grip, but i dnt know how to replicate that... anyone got any ideas? im using the AT800of and its crap... lol
The grip has to be G4. I always take off original grip, clean under it, sand a bit and put some vernish. Then I put 1 Karakal PU super grip and finish it with electrical tape instead of big ugly karakal sticker. I cut the tape in half so it looks like original yonex tape. Oh and... I said it many times.. but I will say it again. Karakal PU super with a plain color is rougher than a Karakal Pu super grip with 2 colors (fading). The fading Pu grip is more spongy and confortable. Thats the way I like it^^
For me it's towel grip with yonex super grap over it, both go up the handle til they run out, no cutting!
If G5, I just use Feco slip-on towel grip over the original grip. If G4, I remove the original grip, put rubberized tape over the wood handle, then place Wilson or Head overgrip on top of the rubberized tape, then finally put Feco slip-on towel grip above everything else.
Yeah, you get a spongier super grap feeling, softer but you still get a good grip on the racket. I find that towel grips can get slippy very quickly, especially if you're playing a lot and you don't change them regularly. Obviously there's no point in putting a towel grip on under anything other than an overgrip.
If you have a larger grip, does that mean your racquet will be more to being head light? Let's say I have a G3 racquet and a G5 of the same racquet If I put the same overgrip on it... Which will become more headlight? And which will become more to evenbalance/head heavy? Or it makes no difference because the weight is put somewhere else?
normally i have G5 with 1 YY supergrap over it. recently my coach commented that my grip is way too thin for feel so i tried 2 supergrap. i'm ok with either, and able to adapt to either one
I put an overgrip on top of my G5 original grip. It's one of Yonex's ridged overgrips and it keeps slipping down. Will removing the original grip make overgrips stick better?
The ridged yonex grips should be a replacement grip, so yeah... Remove the original grip and put it on
