    Hi
I'm trying to trade my new Nanospeed 7000 for an AT800DE or something similar but I'm not sure how to go about it if I'm not confident the other person will actually send the racquet. Has anyone on this board traded racquets and if so, what was their experience. Did they just promise to send each other the racquet or was any cash involved as security.
If the other person was a regular on the board I'd have no problem, but if they came just to trade racquets ... causes me some concern.
    Any advice would be appreciated

That's a tough one. A person who's a forum regular is definitely prefered. In your case, perhaps you can consider a COD. eg. you sell him your racquet, and he sell his to you, both at same price, and both use the cash-on-delivery option. In this case, if he/she ships you nothing, or a defective racquet, you won't have to pay for it, but he'll have to pay for your racquet if he wants to receive it

    Thanks
Your offer to trade is very fair although I'm not sure your racquet is for me.
But your suggestion about COD is very good especailly if there's some doubt about the other person.
    Thanks again

there are also the alternative of using escrow services. but you're going to have to pay for that.

Doh! You don't want to trade for my super awesome MP99? :p

In any event, if the said person has an eBay account, you can look at their feedback or get someone to vouch for them that you can mutually agree on that's online; that is if you can find someone like that.

    Usually isn't too hard.

My rule of thumb is: when all is said and done, if you have doubts, then don't do the trade. Better safe than sorry. :)
