my racket usually strung at 23lbs, bg85.. few days ago, i just bought a prince evo II, and still the same, bg85 @ 23lbs... After a few games, i keep to hit the shuttle outside even at the back of the court, i also found out i can do a hard smash. My partner ask me whether my arm or wrist has increased the power or is the racket problem? Before, iam using ti dream (5ug4, head heavy), now prince evo II, 4ug5, all balanced... so what is your guys opinion?

Could be the Prince racket is suited for you..

Are you sure both rackets are still at the same tensions? One could be higher than the other, or one may have lost some tension already..

This is not the way to tell the tensions of two racquets. You need to listen to the tones of the stringbad. Higher the tone, higher the tension... You can not tell the difference unless one is really loose.

Mostly it's the racket fits for u better in power, when compare to the other one, rather than the string tension.

Besides technique and strength, there are still many factors affect the performance in some sort of degrees, such as stiffness, string type / tension, balance, grip size, etc.

If you wanna test to see if high tensions are suitable for you or lower tension, just restring it a little higher/lower next time you break your strings. Let's say from 23lb, you got it strung at 25lb and don't like it... Then reverse it, go from 23lb to 21lb, maybe you'll like it more.

Definitely the way to go although for those of us using BG85 its kinda costly to do

If you don't want it to go out the back, don't hit it so hard. Control it.
The extra power will be useful when you are out of position or under pressure and can't play a full stroke but you still want to get the shuttle to the back of the court.

    1. If u like the current tension, no point to even perform such "test".

    2. If u don't like the current tension, u need a change anyway. Otherwise, stick with something u don't feel comfortable with is even more of a waste. ;)

Well then instead of increasing little by little, try a very high tension racquet and try a very low tension racquet and see which one you like more to decide:D
