Hi there Shawn30_k, u sure kanna reprimanded for not using "search" function Anyway I went to JB and patronised Hong Li in Taman Sentosa. Hong Li Trading Company 10 , Blk J, Compleks Lien Hoe, Jln Sutera 3 Tmn Sentosa 80150 Johor Bahru,Johor Tel : 07 3316676 I was recommended another shop near a stadium by LouisW. Saw some forummers patronise Pertama Komplek in KL.
What are the good buys from that shop in jb? for yonex rackets , definitely cheaper in singapore. how about shuttle cocks ? any yonex brand ? and how much?
I was there only once about 2-3 months ago. My impression was Yonex rackets were expensive. The good buys would be the "Clonex" like APACS, Proace, Fleet etc (Not many or in fact none of Winex though). The variety was quite good. Pardon me but I cant remember the model of Yonex there. (I remember they carry Muscle Power lower range, though) The shuttlecocks are quite reasonably priced (based on what my brother said). The saving would be significant if we bought in bulk. Stringing is cheap compared to SG. My brother just strung his YY MP30 with BG67 for RM25. The shop is quite "hidden". Easiest way if you cant find it, walk along the outside of the complex. It is near a bridal shop, diagonally across is a restuarant selling "Herbal Chicken". LouisW recommended another shop http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21697&page=2&pp=18&highlight=apacs Havent tried out.
Malaysian Racquet Try to search Malaysian racquet namely Bedini. I have one and it is good. I don't know what's being cloned. May be it is also original. You may try to visit: www.premierglory.com
From what I've heard, Yonex racquets are generally cheaper in Singapore. Malaysia on the other hand is more expensive. Although there may be some shops that sell cheaper.
There is a shop nearby the Tebrau wet-market is called "Mega Sport". His stringing skill also good. He can do the stringing service for you immediately whereby at "Hong Li" you have to wait at least 2 hours. Now, I don't recommend you guys do the stringing at BL Sport (Permas Jaya) because his stringing skills is below average and that guy also a bit arrogant (the way he talk). You don't have to bargain anymore because he always claim his selling price is the lowest amongst the others. If you want to buy APACS or ProAce racquets, just go to Mega Sport or Hong Li and I'm sure they can fulfill your requirement.
If Im not mistaken, Mega Sport sells fakes. That was where I got my fake MP99. Its my friends shop. Gotta be careful.
I wonder how you manage you buy a "fake" MP99. Do you mean the painting works is exactly the same and printed "Yonex" name at the cone? Don't you mind post the picture for us to view. When you bought it?
Well, I was cheated as I've never seen a real MP99 before I have posted a thread a month ago. Its somewhere in the equipment forum. You can click on my name and look at the threads I've started. When I bought the racquet, the guy sounded so confident and I decided to trust him. So I bought the racquet. Anyway, he only followed his dad's instruction and sold me the fake racquet. He didn't know it was a fake piece...but the promised to give me a refund anyway.
you sure you bought that fake MP99 at Mega Sport? The reason I asked you this question is because the shopkeeper a a young fella at the age of 30 and he is still single. He rent a small / half shop in front the church. So, I think you shop you visit is not Mega Sport.
Hi Shawn, there is a place in JB where i always purchase my badminton equipments, unfortunately i do not know the address but i can describe..... Ok! after u pass the custom checkpoint, go down and cross the underpass, then straight forward until u see the Petro station, turn left and straight till slightly b4 the T junction (u will have to pass the cross junction where the Indian Roti Prata shop is) and u will see the shop (selling sports equipments own by chinese) on ur left. the price he charges is very fair, e.g - Yonex BG65 + stringing = RM20 - Carbonex 21 + bag + grip + String = RM170 - Carbonex 20L + Bag + Grip + String = RM160 - Yonex BG68Ti + Stringing = RM25 - and so on.........
Re Hi tutu_h , oh, i not sure is that shop i got pass by before. Is it in front got $$ changer and a phone shop beside it? that day i saw the shop was empty and a man was sitting down, thought that his things might be expensive, that why no go in see.. if that is the one, hw come no pple go in? ceng
