Anyone going? I'm definately going to be there. By looking at the line-ups Team Asia will be winning it for sure.
I think it needed peter, kenneth in the ms and either jonas/lars or martin/jens in the md to put the outcome in any doubt - just my opinion
This is purely an invitational event. And offer no ranking points. Some of them may not be able to make it. I do hope JR and partner can play as well. Maybe next year. Probable reason is to prepare for the WC.
yea? why are there only two? not enough time maybe and one more thing, why doesnt denmark send kenneth or peter?
I thought he retired, because he wasn't picked for the Danish WC team... It was in the danish news some time ago!
They are brother and sister. Sister is older 26yrs old and brother is around 24yrs old. Very committed players.
I dont think Anders retired. he just quite the training on the national training center and is now training on his own. Looks like the danish squad has boycotted this event, obviously to prepare for the WC.. just my 2 cents
Lin Dan and Taufik actually don't like each other, so it's interesting to see them in one team (Asian team). However, Taufik doesn't mind to become Lin Dan's teammate because this is not a formal competition, and he also doesn't mind Li Yongbo to become the captain Taufik said he wouldn't communicate with Lin Dan as the competition lasts only 3 days and he also has language barrier with Lin. He even said like this: "I'm currently ranked 8th in the world, I will be taking part in Singapore and malaysia Open. Hopefully my ranking could go up to 3rd or 4th then, so that I won't meet somebody until the final ..." When asked who is that "somebody", Taufik laughed in an "unfriendly" way:"I have been waiting for WC for long time." Although the Phillipines is not far from China, Lin Dan seems doesn't like very much about it. He enquires a couples of times, "So far away, and held during my closed door training period, are you sure I'm selected??" When confirmed that he needs to go, Lin Dan helplessly said:"There are two Opens I need to compete before WC, system training is already no enough, and yet I still need to go for this competition (Asia vs Europe)" About issue he will become Taufik's teammate, Lin Dan seems doesn't care about it. All on his mind now is nothing other than the WC. Lin Dan said that he hopes to clinch his first WC title, to change people's perception towards his "Open Champion" image. (only wins Open tournament)/
Actually most of them are not keen to join this tournament initially. But have to give way to the organisers as well.
Mentally I will be more interested to watch a game between Lin Dan and Taufik after knowing Taufik doesn't like Lin Dan (in Hokkien dialect we call it "beh song" )
Yeah, i agree. If i'm the reporter during the press conference, i will ask them some tricky questions. hehehe...
