I had my ISO 900 SS Strung @ 23 lbs and AT500 @ 24lbs couple months ago, and both of them broke after less than 5-6 times of playing (roughly 8-12 hrs). Yet you can hardly resist smashing with this string, it feels and sounds so good. Now I am back off to BG80, which provide a similar performance but lasting much longer.
I strung all my cab30ms with BG85 @ 22*24lb. I am not a hard smasher. The string will snap within 2-3 weeks, roughly 30-40 hrs of playing.
with bg85, tension loss over time isn't an issue. its string durability that you should be worried about.
This is exactly the tension on my rackets. I play about 3-5 hours per week actual game time but I am not a hard smasher. In maybe 6 years of using BG85 i've only had it break maybe 6 times. Most of it on my Armortecs. They usually last me for over a year if they dont break on a miss-hit and I change them to bring them back to 23-ish lbs. I string them at 24 because they will settle down at 23 after a couple of weeks.
With BG85, you can kinda of tell when the string is about to snap. The tell-tail sign is the fraying. When you see more and more fraying, you can start saving up for the next set of strings. For BG66 on the other hand, there isn't any "warning" at all.
my new racket strung with bg85 @ 23lbs but now only 21lbs. i dun have much money so worry about it snaps fast! :crying: Badminton is really a costly sports..
I use Amortec700 Clones with BG85 at 27lb tension. Playing about 6 hrs a week it lasts about three months.
A lady friend broke the BG85 strings on her AT800DE and she thought it was because of her smashing power (which she doesn't have any). Didnt have the heart to tell her that it was actually a mis-hit that cause the strings to snap
i guess it shld be all the parts of yr string dats running from the grommet holes to near the edge of the "square hitting spot" formed by the mains n crosses dats shld be most susceptible to string snaps due to mishits as they are the weakest part.
i do not know abt 24Lbs, but i used to string Bg85 at 23Lbs, it normally last ard 7-9 sessions of 3hrs play n den it will become quite "dead" = dun have the crisp feeling of hitting the shuttle n den i will go for restringing. :crying:
Dude................15-20 hours a week of badminton? thats even mroe that a part time job....Neways, I string my bg 85 at 23 lbs and it snaps at aroundone month, or 20 hours
