I don't know what BRL means by 'circus-colors', but I agree that the old emoticons were much better.

Half of mine are bright colours and the other half are still yellow

yes, he can use whichever emoticons he wants, including adding new ones or removing existing ones, in addition to changing the current ones.

I think the emoticons are mapped wrong too, the ": p" icon without the space is

which looks like a happy cheeky smiley as opposed the grumpy, "You're wrong so there" image that I want.
