Well, yang yang holds the record of winning the most amount of world titles at 2, but does anyone think lin dan will very much break that record? Now that the WC will be held every year, there is much better chance for players to get two titles or more, even if they are not as great as Yang Yang was.

I think Lin Dan will definately match yang yang's record. I think he would win two titles for sure, and even get more.

to hard to predict.. I think it will be hard for him to get more than two titles since its one of the big events where everybody is in topform. Lin Dans game relys on speed and explosion but with the training methods used in China I doubt he will last that long, just look at Xia, Sun Jun and others

I do agree with Morten. However currently Lin Dan's game in unbreakable. I do hope he can break yang yang's record. Another contender would be taufik.

Lin Dan has been at this kind of form for a while now. so it's possible if the Worlds are held every year for him to at least match that record. Aside from the All England, (a notable win), he hasn't performed extremely well in tournaments this large.

Will they be holding the Worlds every year from now on, or is it just this one time that it will be on an even year?
Speaking of World Championship records, who holds the record for most doubles titles? Kim Dong Moon has 3 world championship titles... i believe Park Joo Bong does as well, is that right? Will Kim and Ra accept their wildcards and come to try and win the world championships again? with a ticket to play, i can't see how they wouldn't just give it a try, but maybe they have other things in mind. does anyone know?

Another record of yang yang which lin dan has to break is win a back-to-back wc title. when yang yang did it, wc was held once every two year, to maintain the form to win a consecutive second wc title is not easy;)

If you count both MD and XD,
    Park has 5: MD 85, 91 and XD 85, 89, 91
    KDM has 3: MD 99 and XD 99, 03

I doubt if Lin Dan will break Yang Yang's record. After watching his 2 Sudraman Cup matchs against Sony and Taufik, he has problem with players good at the net. Yang Yang was a much more complete player.

but taufik has never won before right?
That makes his chances slimmer...Lin and Taufik's chances are about even in my opinion..
