    Hi all,

I am going to KL in about 2 week's times.

Since the racket prices are same or more expensive than
Singapore, I wanted to just buy some accessories like
    shuttlecocks and grips.

I have read that Pertama complex has some shops.
Any one of them particularly good to buy shuttles
    and grips?

Do any of them sell pacific grips or
    RCL shuttlecocks and how much?

    Anyone used RCL shuttlecocks before
and can comment on them? I hear that
there are black, blue, orange, green, gold
    models.

    Thanks and regards

I am new to KL so i can't really tell you where to buy shuttle and grips.
Normally I use RCL shuttlecocks and it is good.
The gold one i think it maybe New Classic and this is the shuttlecock i used frequently when have a match with my friend, it is can stand for a long match which i ask for.
The black one may have two types, the pearl and the other one is not so good so i can't remember the name. In my opinion, the gold is just a little bit better than the black (pearl).
The orange and green is also good but i can't really stand for a long match, the feather may loose depends on how hard you hit the shuttlecock.
Some times when i am free or undergo some training with my little brother i will use the blue one because the feather won't loose easily but one disadvantage is you reaqlly need to hit very hard to get the shuttlecock to fly to the rear court.

    Hi,
Pertama complex do sell RCL but I think this brand is more common in Penang. If I am not mistaken, the distributor is from Penang. I prefer to use Protech Championship or Protech Masterpiece. Will cost u RM$39/- and RM$42/- per tube respectively. Well, good luck.

    To ADIDAS
You are right, the distributor is in Penang.
    To Crazy Smasher,

I am from Penang so i buy it from there where the distributer is near by. The black one is about RM 40 (pearl) and Rm32 for the other in Penang. Green one is slightly about RM 28 and the Blue one is RM 16. The orange is just RM 26 so it is not as good as the green one. For what i know now , they are going to increase the price.

    What about grips?

    Thanks for the reply.

What time the shop normally open and close in Pertama?
Anyone know if they sell pacific grips there?

I wonder how much difference there is between the protech PT10 (black tube one), protech championship and the protech masterpiece

Have not seen PT10 in Malaysia. It would be equivalent of the Protech Masterpiece IMO. No comment on the protech championship because have not tried it.

    Hi Crazy smasher,
Pertama Complex shop should be opened by 1030hrs or 1100hrs.Shuttlecocks n stringing there are much cheaper than Singapore. Only Yonex rackets v be xpensive there. Protech Masterpiece is sliightly more expensive than Protech Championship.bcos it already proven brand. However, Championship is also pretty good. I had tried it b4.

    Thanks for your replies.

Nazri, i think the rackets in Singapore is around same price or cheaper as far as yonex brand is concerned. Maybe i will look out for some other brands :)

Sealman, the protech masterpiece, i have only been able to see it at Toa Payoh safra, think was more expensive than Pt-10, anyway looks more high class than PT10 as far as the packaging is concerned.

I wonder if it is difficult to reach Pertama complex by train or taxi.

Shanepaul86 and addidas_lee, i got a friend who just got me a Pearl RCL and black RCL. Will try them later. The pearl one looks very strong structure. Only during actual game, i will be able to see if it is good. Got 7 models for the RCL brand i think.

    Pertama location?

I will be staying at swiss garden hotel.

How far is it by taxi to go there. How much approximately are the
taxi fares charged in Kuala Lumpur? Do they charge by meter?

Yes the taxis in kL charge by meter! However beware of those unscrupulous who don't! Another option is by LRT. I think the nearest station from swiss garden is plaza rakyat and nearest to pertama is bandaraya station.

I think the best shuttles in the range of RM40 is the Protech Championship. Just tried 1 tube yesterday. The quality was superb compared to RSL classic tourney. Could easily last 2 games even with heavy smashes.

    Protech shuttlecock

    Hi,
Agreed with KHWong. I too had tried Protech Championship and found it quite lasting. My group are all crazy smashers and whackers. They smash shuttlecocks whichever directions they come. see still last at least one game. I am now trying Aerosensa 99, from China,RM$39/- per tube and see whether it can last or not.
    Hi Crazy Smasher,
Can u leave yr email address? I will pm u later. thanks.
