Well me and a friend were planning to travel down to Calgary sometime this week and we were wondering how well Cardel is? We were planning to meet up with some buddies and play there? Is there usually lots of people on weekdays?
drop in is expensive i think but if u use all their facilities it isnt bad. which day ur coming down? i never been there myself, not much baddy players there
Umm.....wednesday i do believe, drop in is like 5.75 i believe from their site, and you can only book courts for 45 mins, but if theres no one im sure they won't kick us out.
I've went there before they officially grand openning. It was not too bad, only bad part was when you're looking outward to the basketball court. Its hard to see the shuttle. But if you're looking into against the wall, then its not too bad. High ceiling. But the last time i went by there and play, its not as good as when they first open. Cause they didn't have divider and also at that time, we only had 3 courts and too many basketball player. So it kinda restrict you to the amount of courts. Talisman is not too bad in their Gym 4 but also require booking. Village Sq, on Wednesday has 8 courts if its open gym to badminton. D.
You can ask them to. I believe most of the time its just busy with basketball and badminton get second priority. You might want to bring your basketball or swim suit with you incase you can't play badminton. But you do need to call in to book your court space. So you'll have a better idea when you call in to book your court at Cardel. D.
Hmm Cardel isn't too shabby, the gyms are really humid, and there are quite a few jerks that go and steal your court by deliberately saying they have it booked when you indeed had it booked before hand, when you tell them they just kind of walk away shamefully. this happened plenty of times while we were playing.
why dont u go play in clubs listed in 'place to play in calgary'? lot more cheaper and lot less jerks
Cardel only has three badminton courts there, and over the weekend its not usually busy from 7-10 (which is usually when I play^.^), so if you decide 2 play then, there's no need 2 book a court. but probably later in the day, you'll need to book...
I normally go to Cardel to play, lots of begginers and only a couple of good players. Kenny is right about the jerks, but in the summer you barely ever have to book because of the little amount of people that play badminton. Nick
