Price of TH version YY racket.
Need some advise and help
Just got a call from a collegue who just came back from a business trip in Thailand. He took sometime off and went to the shop at National Statdium (Bangkok). He told me he saw YY NS7K TH version selling at 3400 baht.
That is about 139 SGD (w/o string & grip). Can someone tell me why the great price difference?
The SP version selling in Singapore cost about 240 SGD (w string & grip)!
That is almost 100 SGD difference. !!!?
How much is the TH version sold in Singapore?

There has been plenty of discussion around this topic in this forum. I don't think there's a clear answer except the Yonex official one: there's no difference between racquets with different country codes. Personally I own DK and TH racquets (not the same model though!), and haven't found big differencies in them. My answer is: Yonex squeezes more money from the rich markets such as Japan, US and Europe - country code doesn't reflect quality, only price. Bare in mind that all racquets are manufactured in Japan, no matter what the country code is!

It all depends on the economy of the country. Country code does not result in the quality of the racquet.
The price of a racquet is all determined by the economy. Since thailand is economically poorer than SG, Thailand racquets are cheaper.

I heard that the quality standard is different between countries. Someone told me that the racquets shipped to North America passed stricter quality test. So the warrantly period is longer for the North America. This doesn't mean all other country code racquets are defective.

TH version
Hi,
I understand the TH version is sold in Spore at S$200/- per pc. Kind of parallel import. However, the distributor in Spore n Thai are different. So, the charges are also different. Maybe they think Singapore is further than Japan or just 4 market differentiation, they charge differently.

The prices for Spore is not determined by Yonex Japan. SP version is usually controlled by Sunrise Ltd. Any questions.. just refer to Sunrise Spore.

Thanks for the info guys. Seems that TH version is a very good buy.
I have an wild idea.
Singapore Airline is promoting $198 SGD to Bangkok and I haven't check the rest of the budget airline yet. Flight time to Bangkok is only 1hrs 45mins +-...
If I buy a few rackets at one go, which I think other model of YY will be very much cheaper at National Stadium than Singapore, it may be worth the trip.
Just think, 2 NS7K will save me the air fare already.
Is like a day shopping trip in Bangkok!
Fly there in the morning, buy some rackets, have some great TOM YAM and reach home in time to log in to this forum
!
But seriously, I need the experts from Thailand to confirm NS7K is selling at 3400baht (w/o string)
.

price of ns7k....
i am currently working in thailand.... i bent my MP100 (sigh) 4 weeks ago and i have to buy a new one to continue playing. so i bought new NS8k and AT800OF at the national stadium @ ThBaht 3700 & 3300, respectively and without strings... both have TH code.
For your info:
NS7k - ThBaht 3400 w/o string, TH code
MP100 - ThBaht 3300 w/o string, TH code
I knew a guy playing in the court that bought a new NS7K @ ThBaht 1500!!! but it is has a SP code...

Thanks for the update Roberto! Out of curiosity: is there lower end models, such as AT500/AT300, MP66 etc. available in Bangkok? Are they way cheaper than high-end models?

yes, they have... in fact i think they have most of the different range of yonex raquets. NS', AT's, MP's, ISO's, CARBS' all coded TH... and i think they are cheaper, too.
