Sound like a preview of the world championship. The world's best 7 MS players are in the quarter final. :)

I reckon that Chen Jin's Inclusion is a major surprise, upsetting Kenneth Jonnasen like that. He is showing alot of promise with his young age. I dont believe that any other country has someone like him, malaysia's Lim Kenn is still testing out the waters i reckon.. although hopefully he can take over from LCW

Interesting results on the women's side. 2 English pairs in doubles and and a visible dent in the Chinese armour in the singles event. It almost seems like they're having a little problem coming up with the next generation. Xie, though ranked #1, isn't as dominant as Gong Ruina, Zhou Mi, Dai Yun, et al. were and the juniors are just starting to break into the senior tour.

For those who don't know, chen jin was a world junior champion.

But then again, China's Dominance in MS is amazing, out of 8, 4 are chinese, Lin Dan/Chen Hong/Chen Jin/Bao ChunLai, and the others are (2) Malaysian (Hafiz/Lee Chong Wei), (1) Danish (Peter Gade), (1) Indonesian (Taufik)

anyone willing to hazard a prediction for the semi finals?

    im going with
    Lin Dan v Hafiz (hopefully :p )
Bao ChunLai v LCW (lets hope home support tips it in his favour)

Anyway, hope Chong Wei can do well in Malaysian Open because his world ranking had dropped to 8th, while Hafiz still maintain at 6th

It will just affect the seedings for the WC. Taufik should be seeded at worst 5th, depending on his performance in KL. Chong Wei will be below him (either 6th or 7th seed).

I just came back from Cheras Badminton Stadium, what a night...and lots of exciting games :)

To me Wong Choon Hann looks promising in MD (especially when he smash), his 1st game with Peter was coming back from 0-9 to 13-13, that's a pretty fast game, entertaining....too bad he's just making too many mistakes at 2nd game. Peter looks very excited to win over Wong.

These are the predicted winners for the quarter-finals! Wong/Chew lost to the Koreans and I predict that Candra/Sigit will beat the Koreans tomorrow.
