    guys,
    it is like my dream come true. i have never witnessed a badminton tournament(except for an exhibition match between two good players) live. i have not seen any badminton on TV in the last 6 years. In australia, badminton is hardly shown and i missed out the olympics. But, the end of this month melbourne is hosting the Thomas/Uber cup qualifiers .What a delight! Even though it is not top class competition, it is still good enough. Teams from japan, hongkong ,taiwan are coming.. can't wait for it.

    You forgot to mention Malaysia, Korea and Thailand, and they are easily far superior to the teams you mentioned. Actually, these are the teams that will provide the entertainment, not HK, japan or taiwan...

    You're going to have to book finals tickets relatively early I suspect, anyway, here's info on it.


    Thomas & Uber Cup
    20th to 24th February 2002
    Tickets go on sale from the 16th January 2002


    Seating is limited so people will have t get in early to reserve their
    tickets.

    Session times
    Day Sessions
    Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. 12 noon 3:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m.
    Thursday 9:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m.
    Friday 9:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m.
    Saturday 1:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m.
    Sunday 10:00 am 2:00 p.m.

    These session times are not yet set in concrete as we are waiting on
    confirmation from IBF and the Referee.

    The draw is being done on the 20th December and we should have confirmation
    immediately after that.

    Tickets go on sale from the 16th January 2002 and will be available from BA,
    Victoria Badminton and MSAC,
    For Country and Interstate visitors we will have an at call desk where
    tickets can be ordered and picked up on the day of competition. Simply phone

    on 03 9397 4733 or by E-mail to info@badminton.org.au

    Prices are for Day sessions only; there are no tickets available for just
    one session.
    Concession tickets are under 14, Students (with student card) and pensioners
    (with pension card)
    Family tickets are for 2 adults and 2 children

    Friday $10 $5 $22
    Saturday $17 $10 $40
    Sunday $17 $10 $40
    Season Pass All Days $50 $25 $110
    All prices include GST
    Group discount if booked through an affiliated association less 30% Minimum
    group booking is 20 or more people.
    School Groups are free. Provide school makes booking.
