Why is this? It's so annoying when you have to take apart the racket, and build it again...If its not strung, you have to waste money... don't any of you find it annoying?
i don't consider stringing and regripping as a waste of money. its merely the process of making something your own. everyone has differing string and grip preferences, making each racquet as unique as the owner or user.
like each time you buy a prestung racket, and you dont like the string or tension or the basic grip, you have to take it off, and use your own money and get a replacement..
Do you mean factory strings or are you referring to some people on ebay that prestrings white BG65? EDIT: So to solve this annoying process, what do you think should be done instead?
no.. like say you go to sportcheck and nationalsports, they always prestring rackets with white bg65...
They do? No they don't. The low end racquets they have are already prestrung with factory strings. Those aren't BG65. If they were BG65, you could easily see the label "Yonex BG65" in the string
arent those like the cheapest strings? maybe theyre doing it to save money the grip cant be changed, they're factory made arent they?
meh.. i asked the guy at sportchek, and he said its strung with the only string they have, which turned out to be bg 65..
Lol next time bring a strung BG65 to him and SHOW him that it SAIDS Yonex BG65 ON the strings ... Then ask him to proof that his are BG65 =P By the way, factory strings and BG65 looks different, I believe BG65 should be shiny while factory strings are dull. If you have both on hands you can tell the difference.
from an earlier thread, i think legendarycroc has an MP23 which is factory prestrung with BG-65. This was the same for my MP23... in the end found that the tension was too low and had to restring. The lower end MP series in Singapore are all factory prestrung BG-65.
Well I from the two places he listed, they cannot have strung it with BG65. I've been to both the places he mentioned and I got my MP30 from one of them. They only have factory strings on their racquets.
uh... the sportchek the fairview mall one...401/404 and Nationalsports near scarborough town centre...?
bg65 is one of the more cheapier strings, but it's also one of the most lasting strings ... I used to play with bg65, a much more economic string. In denmark the racquets mostly are strung with bg80. -- Christoffer
Many recreational players are just happy to get a useable racket (with string and grip) in ONE payment. Therefore, put fairly cheap (but reputable) string with a safe choice color grip will be an easy choice for the stores. They can surely attract certain group of customers, while making extra profit (i.e. labor, etc). More competitive lvl players tend to upgrade their rackets with better (or tigher) string and grips for preference or performance need. However, it's more toward "professional usage" rather than recreational.
HEY! i started working at sportchek a week ago. hahahaha. i wanted to be hired for their service shop to do bikes and string racquets, but the guy figured my experience is better used on the sales floor. so unfortunately, thars where i am. yesterday there was a guy stringing a racquet, he popped the mount to adjust the tennis racquet a bit after he already strung the mains!!! although i AM thinking of quitting. i don't like sales...
