I cracked it yesterday - touched it this morning the racquet started to split slightly lengthways any ideas if I've lost any power on it or not?
its broken. leave it alone or risk hurting yourself, or someone else. just put it aside as a souvenir!
It's a dangerous thing to even keep, never to metion try to play with it. The lost thing u want to see, if someone (u or others) get cut by the broken fiber.
If the crack is obvious, and racket already showing signs of "changing shape", then whether tape or glue is kinda too late to do anything. Continue to play with it will only further damage the racket, as well as put everyone around in danger...
Or in some extreme cases, death... As much as we may want salvage our racquets, there is a consideration for safety, and although not a high risk sport for death/dismemberment, playing with faulty equipment is one variable we can prevent.
Heres the pick - apologies for the filesize! [img=http://img278.imageshack.us/img278/2370/dsc000052ep.th.jpg]
yes, it's the shaft!:crying: EDIT: heres a betta pic - http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/5462/dsc000061hx.jpg
I would not suggest playing with a racket that has a damaged shaft...you will be compromising the safety of yourself and your badminton partners... The main worry is that the shaft may snap off in the middle off a stroke and possibly hit someone...those graphite bits are also quite sharp and if you are not careful, you could cut yourself... However, I can't really tell how bad the damage is from the pics..it seems to be a rather wierd kind of crack around the surface of the shaft...
none of us, including urself can see or know the inside of it. Therefore, the last thing u want to see, is it DOES flow off, and hurt someone... My suggestion again, do NOT use it.
Togey..Don't use the racquet...It's very unstable especially when the crack it's at the shaft.. U never when u smash too hard..The racquet might fall apart..So you might as well just save some money and buy a new racquet.
