WC is a 7Star event and ranking points does counts. In terms of the point ever reset.. i'm not sure myself.
if not mistaken, ranking points only count (be accumulated) for the last 1 year. that's why after Taufik won WC, his ranking/points was still the same, because it was the same time with his olympic points expired, so 6000 (from olympic) gone and 6000 (from WC) comes in.
No disrespect to Kenneth Johansen and Bao Chun Lai but if the world rankings truely reflected the standard/form of the players, they would certainly be out of the top 5, in come Taufik, Lee Chong Wei and probably Chen Hong.
unfortunately, somehow world ranking is not based on standard form of the players, but regular participation and progress in the tournaments, and some more the difference points earned between winner and runners-up/Semi finalist not a lot, that's why i think world rankings can't really determine standard of the players. Unless the winner earn huge points compare to others so that the difference will be significant to the ranking. BCL never win any tournaments (at least for past 15 months) but he is quite regular in participating in any tournaments, eventhough he never win the tournaments but there are lots of points he earned to give him no 3 in the world (from his progress to Final,SF,QF).
yes, but who knows last minutes they withdraw hahaha since the draw is not out yet, so still possible
hahaha, you are right anyway , i don't care that much about the ranking thing , just wish there will be excellent games
if you ask taufik about ranking, he'll answer "emang gue pikirin" i don't know the right translantion of "emang gue pikirin" in english anyone ?
can't find the word 'emang' in dictionary , what dose it mean? as for the phrase, guess it means 'i don't care' ?
