Today's Star Online says Tony will return to the fold for the Thomas Cup finals.
    Taufik will play as well.

Indonesia's chance of retaining the cup are better. However, they won't have such a massive fan base.

    Come on China!!!

how's Tony going to play well? reportedly, he is leaving for the US in this month. i doubt he will be able to find good training over here. unless if he is heading to LA, where most of the US team is located.

he will have a few months without good badminton training? is that possible?

As he is Head and shoulders above the rest of The field i believe that he can play with minimal practise and i am sure he will practise for a coupel fo days with the Indo team! either way It is his Bastion adn he is going to kick ass!

As to Indo Being Supported, I am shouting at the top of my voice! That is for sure! I used to make the roll call In The National cadet Corps! So GO INDO GO!

Nobody -- NOBODY -- can stay at the stop without training. Not even Tony.

Sorry to disappoint you, Tony is not going to join the Indonesian team as he is going to the States later this month to join his girl friend and also study computer science. You can check with the Indonesian newspaper.

He is firm with his decision, he doesn't want to play in the Thomas Cup tournament. So Indonesia might depend on Sigit/Chandra and Bambang Suprianto/Tri Kusharyanto doubles.

anyone who can and has read these Indonesian newspaper can confirm this rumor? there were reports of both "yes, i am playing", and "no, i am not playing", so it is rather confusing.

The "yes" was at a later date than the "no".

I think Tony will be back. As Mag said, it will be a superhuman feat to reach the standard for the Thomas Cup. So we may not see Tony in action, but he will remain popular for being "available" when needed to represent his country.

With his height, that's a pretty big ice-cube.
I feel cold with the temp at 14 celcius (287K)

Okay you jokers, actually the weather here SUCKS right now. It's a few centigrades above zero... and raining... No snow left, and definitely no skating in the archipelago (yes, you can normally do that, for miles and miles and miles)... Bleh. I'm originally from up north so I'm used to really white winters.

On the other hand, it's perfect weather for badminton! ;)

where i live, 14 C is balmy weather, warm enough for wearing shorts and t-shirt outside. This winter had been warm here, -5 to -15 C. Ususally it should be -15 to -25 C. If winds starts blowing, things get chilly.
