Unless this is some limited edition (lower end?) distributed in Asia (unlikely, as they could be confused with SHB89MG), I think the shoes are FAKE. The pics show the shoes appear to be in low quality.

Is that store a reliable authorized Yonex dealer? Do they have ideas (i.e. specialized) in badminton? If no for both, they might be just another victim for fakes.

The reason I would say that's fake, is Yonex should not be stupid enough to introduce a lower end model, to be confused with a higher end model. It's too risky, as of ruining reputation.

Crap, I'm not ruling out the possibility of them just being low quality :)crying:, it's bad either way then) but it was probably not a good idea to buy them before asking here. 2 weeks and still waiting but I'm not too worried about it getting here, the guy has been known to have lengthy delivery times so I suppose this is nothing out of the ordinary. And by the way, the seller is in Singapore.

Such a model exists. Sold only in Asia. Its a lower spec. version of the SHB 89MG's. I bought a pair in a yonex store in Thailand. Don't rule them out so quickly guy's for such a shoe exists. (Those however may be fake).

Anyone want me to discuss this topic on my website? Let me know.

I won't post the link, since it's most likely be gone within the day, so for those who have it, you're in luck.

Yup, as someone mentioned, its sold in sportslink.

Look at the picture (in the sportslink website below), it's called the "World Champion Super Pro" at the bottom, not SHB89. I think the price is S$68 or something like that and its performance will reflect its price (tho' SHB 89 is S$99 so its not that much of a price difference). The other Yonex shoes shown in the picture are even cheaper, ranging from $29-$49:

For background to those not in Singapore, sportslink is a major sporting goods chain and major Yonex dealer. Definitely 100% original.

wow the article claims that Yonex SP racquets are manufactured in Singapore! :
"If you’ve noticed, SP racquets are generally cheaper than all the other region codes, and as well, they produce several models that Yonex has already discontinued for years, such as the ISO800 Tour.
What the difference between the racquet manufactured in Singapore and in Japan? Cost of labour, manufacturing tolerance, production cost, material quality, are some key differences. The design and manufacturing process are identical however."

Wow, where in Singapore is the factory? I want to visit it!
